No, it is completely illogical. The 8th letter of the alphabet is the only one to have a name, which is spelled Aitch. There is no justification in mis-pronouncing it. It isn't even easier to say haitch. What is easier to say, N haitch S, or N aitch S?
Lots of other letters, if you spelled them out, don't begin with themselves - we don't say feff for F or mem for M, so why do people feel the need to add an h to the beginning of aitch? Not logical at all, to me.

Most words beginning with H start with @ huh hih hah hoh or heh sound unless you're speaking in a dialect , French or trying to sound posh when speaking about hotels or an ordinary person using some words of French origin ( e.g. honour). So it ought to be correct to say haitch.

Such as in a call from the doctor to say, "there's nothing to worry about, . . . however . . . ."!

Answer: exasperated.
For the purists I know it should really be exaspirated.
And while I have your attention, a man goes to the doctor saying he can’t pronounce f or th.
The doc replies, “You can’t say fairer that that.”
