    @Nollie Yes Pheno does seem to be holding its colour - its stunning.  I do like the CPM colour change too.  I will watch on here for news on TCL shipping status... or maybe I shouldnt I fear danger! ;)  I have enticed so many friends to buy roses this year I think I could split an order if they do ship at least.

    @Marlorena Ooh I like that one you suggested too - Id forgotten Handels climbing aspect.  thank you for the suggestion I knew youd know!

    One thing on Pheno Natalija - as the listing notes, its stems do arch somewhat, ive got mine at the front of a border, and ive propped a couple of stems up with wire stem supports to show off the blooms as I only have a few open to start with, but I dont think it will be so needed with lots of blooms clustered.  its a lovely compact shape so far, it would be gorgeous in a pot! Its stems drooped in the 32 degree heat yesterday but soon bounced back once I poured a jug of water over it, so Ive noted it especially needs a really good water while getting established.

    I'm pleased you're getting more blooms on FD @Nollie
    I had been wondering what happened to your rose... do you find it has a weak neck? I hadn't noticed it before on this rose when I had it.. mine has been blooming well, I couldn't be without it for the scent..

    @Athelas
    .. ok.. 1. William Shakespeare 2000 a rose with such a sprawly habit and strong scent..
    2.  William and Catherine I would guess.
    3.  looks like Gentle Hermione, but that has a strong scent.. I'm surprised you couldn't smell that..
    4.  my Desdemona looks like that at the moment..

    Again, beautiful roses everyone.
    I rushed out just after lunch as it looked like it was going to rain heavily and picked an armful of roses whilst they were still looking good. My big rose Penelope on the wall is absolutely laden but leaving forward so I've hastily propped some of the heavier laden branches up with fencing pins - anybody else use these for supports? They're brilliant, black, heavy steel pins about 3ft high, points one end and shepherds crook thingy on the other. Very easy to push into the ground, especially on heavy clay soil like ours.
    I got mine from S......x.

    @Lizzie27, I didn't know about fencing pins. They look very useful. I have broken endless canes trying to push through clay soil!

    So did I, @newbie77, and nearly stabbed myself with broken canes several times. I first bought the pins to use for wire mesh leafmould bins which were brilliantly easy and had a spare few left over in the shed. They'll last a lot longer than canes as well so worth the cost.
