    @Dovefromabove

    'Open Arms'...a DA modern small rambler. Beautiful flowers all summer which open pink, and fade to pink flush as they age. I'm growing it on a 7-8ft trellis in full sun all day.

    Thank you @peteS  ... my OH has fallen for R. Meg and wants to put it against our new westfacing fence ... Open Arms looks like another he’d like.

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    @Dovefromabove , that rose looks like stars. beautiful against the foliage.

    @Nollie, love song is looking very pretty. Still waiting for mine to open properly. May be tomorrow.

    @Eustace, you have got nice collection. Your tip about onion is very useful. Now using to protect my dahlias from fox.

    @Omori, you got lucky with Fragrant Delight.
    Are those proper buttercups, the weed one. I let it grow in my previous garden, didnt know they could be invasive and they took over a lot of border. some even hitchhiked to my new garden. They grow from both seed and root runner.

    We are still in the process of clearing our overgrown garden as we let it fall into disrepair for the past 2 years due to our work commitments. Until then, most of my roses, relocated from our previous place, have to live in pots. Being a suburban garden, we have regular nocturnal fox visits and I recently saw one just walking along the garden fence and jumping over the fence to the next house in broad daylight. I therefore, put onions, garlic, orange peels etc. around the rose plants to deter these foxes.

    And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)
