ROTD only has a couple of blooms open at the moment, but it’s such a vigorous and healthy plant it deserves the accolade. It will make a tall, upright shrub or can be trained as a climber. A Delbard rose, Guy Savoy:
A surprising runner up is Pure Poetry. It hated cooler, damp weather, the petal-packed blooms balled horribly. It’s much better now we have had some real heat. Still unconvinced it’s a keeper, but..

Hello all, I just started a new post with a plea for help / guidance on a climbing rose. If anyone can help a novice gardener would be very grateful!!! Cheers, Matt
I've had to move Desdemona earlier she just wasn't coping and needed more space. The ground is lovely and damp and a touch of cool air is about after all the rain in the south east so I'm hopeful shell survive and be happier.
I've been surprised and pleased by the pollinators using the single roses this year. I had assumed the 'bee friendly' tag just referred to the single bloom, not that an insect would select them if it had choice. This year I've noticed bees on the roses when there were other plants of interest available, like poppies, alliums, lamium and geranium phaeum.
I'm a bit behind but I can' tremember who posted what but @cooldoc 's
and @Omori 's stand out. I know everyone is showing fabulous blooms now
which is total therapy.
It's going to rain again, sigh, so I took my phone on the rounds.
Easy Does It off again, New Zealand, Charles Darwin, also AbFab,Ebb Tide, Dames deC, RosedeR and Rhapsody in Blue in the backNew Zealand has a gorgeous scentCarminia smells pretty decent tooWildberry has astonishing foliage, GrafinDiana behindOther highlights Odyssey, Chartreuse deP, Malvern Hills and Claire Marshall
@celcius_kkw I wonder if DA meant the sturdy plant, which SWE is, could withstand wind, without considering whether the blooms could hang on? So far you have chosen gorgeous roses and grow them so well in pots, which I have found especially inspiring as I've said before I'm sure.
I managed to get a shot of this bloom before it gets ruined by the next set of rain. The first ones never got a chance with heavy rain and wind, but this round of Sheila's Perfumed has survived to open fully. 🙂
