I got the long reach pruner out today and pruned 2 or 3 long straggly shoots from the top of my Aspahan rose. Must have been 8-9 ft tall. We're forecast heavy rain on Monday so didn't want it battered. Only problem was I discovered tiny buds right at the tips, such a shame I cut them off.

@Marlorena How did you find the repeat flowering and disease resistance of Jude?

Interesting that they don't use or encourage fungicide. Lots of newer roses are very resistant to BS.

I found it better than expected, for a first season Austin... I remember it blooming until late, and it was always producing blooms during the season... but last year was the first year I had it...  can't wait for it to start flowering again..

oh, and disease resistance very good too.. I was surprised again.. August is usually a bad month for disease for me, but I have a photo of this rose with only minor spots,  mid August..

Looking good Mr Vine Eye, glad you got some rain as well. We've had more this afternoon.
