    Lovely comments, thank you
    @celcius_kkw That is the wonderful Absolutely Fabulous/Julia Child. Ah yes the Cosmos, that's what happens when you bung your last 3 self sown plants into gaps in the newly manured and improved rose climber bed. 5ft of lush growth, 1 flower. I should remove them but it is amusing me now and the 'shrub' is attractive.
    Your TP is looking great @Nollie I am so glad you showed me yours last year. Soul is going to be even better, right?
    Blackspot is not too bad so far with the exception of Burgundy Ice, Royal William, Sandringham and Diamond Eyes but mildew is a curse. It has been very dry in terms of rain so I am watering pots and inground plants like mad but this is combined with little sun and an endless damp/misty air. I do hope the week of warm dry materialises, Marlorena
  • Thanks @purplerallim, glad I checked then as yours is clearly a substantial plant! I will shuffle my intended pots around so B4Y can have a large pot. I've ordered it bareroot from TCL.

    'Duchesse d'Auerstadt' looking good @Nollie .. I think I'd be pleased with a bloom like that, even if only one this year..   my climbing 'Devoniensis' hasn't given me any so far.. it's just not been hot enough..

    @Rojas
    Hi again Rojas, just  to keep you informed regarding the rose... I have heard back from Dr. Girija Viraraghavan and they are trying to get a budded rose for me from Sussex University....  they sent budwood to David Austin roses, who propagated some for them, but they do not have any left and do not sell it via their website..  Kew Gardens and RHS Wisley also have the rose, so they may be options for the future.

    Yes I’m pleased with it @Marlorena and would love to try a few other old red/purple Austins, like Prospero and Tradescant, but those and indeed the Prince are becoming rather difficult to source.

    My Prince has wanted to climb from the start, so different in habit to yours @Tack, which if anything has surpassed mine already. Where did you get yours from, wasn’t it a German nursery? As for Soul, of course it’s going to be marvellous 😆
    Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
  • I just saw the news @Nollie is your area ok,  as it seems there is flash flooding in North Eastern Catalonia and I didn't know how near that was to you.

    @Victoria Sponge Thank you for the welcome  :)

    @Nollie Your 'The Prince' is amazing. I'm trying get hold of 'The Prince' charming for the past two years without a luck. I have a wish list of 20 more roses for this year, my husband has kindly offered to drive me to Netherlands but the trip is on hold due to Amber status.

    @Tack, @celcius_kkw I am really amazed to the container growing and I don't think I will ever succeed. You both are growing and presenting the pots beautifully.

    I have lot more roses but I think I have already posted so much in here. Sadly, I had to let go Alchymist( Diseased early, too big and took much space) , Pure Poetry (only got 6 blooms and others rain damaged) Maidens Blush (bush is not attractive enough after the flowering). Probably I will let go off all once bloomers (Ispahan, Mme.Hardy (lack of fragrance on the 2 year old plant) I have except Constance Spry and La Rose De Molinard.
