Is that a pot within a pot? I do that too, for extra insulation from the sun in my case. I took the inner pots out of several yesterday and put them on a table to more easily despatch the critters. I also found earwigs living in the damp environment between the two pots, so that explained my chewed buds!
It is. Although not a deliberate reasoned choice on my part. Mrs P liked the pot so until I can decide what to plant properly in it, I literally plonked the first thing in a pot that fit, just to fill it. Never give a thought to the environment between the pot walls and what it may possibly sustain... makes you think doesn't it?
Toyah still blooming after 5 weeks but blooms are now shattering. Also defoliating badly and dropping as many leaves as petals. so possibly winding down. Is it possible to know whether this is a once or repeat flowering climber or rambler? I think I like the downturned flower clusters on this, and I'm hoping it will be glorious next year once I have it trained over the top of the pergola.
