I have had a very busy morning in the GH and garden and now I need to get something to eat. The sun has reappeared after a bit of a dim time so hopefully I will get out there again after I've eaten.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Had quite a busy day .Not doing anymore today . I have a few large pots to empty and wash tomorrow .I hope that everyone who has had their jabs recently are ok ? .
Had a nice trip to the farm shop. Bought a crab for supper & a bit of veg. The butchery counter was very inviting but OH is away again for a few days so I didn't succumb - might have to take him out there next week to buy something nice.
I bought 6 small box plants to fill 2 large gaps in the dwarf hedge after a really bad attack of box blight last year - the result of a very hot and very dry summer followed by a warm and wet late summer / autumn - perfect conditions for blight. Other stretches of the hedge are struggling but will probably recover. Most of it is thriving - hey ho!
Also bought some new herb plants - French tarragon and lemon verbena didn't survive the very cold nights and the rosemary & sage are getting a bit old and straggly.
Unfortunately they didn't have any of the geraniums I was after - either Orkney Flame or Patricia and Eureka Blue or Orion. May have to do those by mail order.
LB - internet and phone line are working fine but we still can't send or receive emails via our home broadband / Wifi on any of the 6 devices we use. We can, however, send and receive them as usual on any of the devices if we connect to a different Wi-fi network or use 4G. Don't, therefore, think it's a problem with our email domain or any of the devices / settings. I've asked our ISP to look again at the settings at their end.

I've just come in having finished for the day. Gave a half bag of BBQ charcoal I've had in the garage for ages to my neighbour, filled all the bird feeders and that is it. Just as I came through the back door, big fat spots of rain have started to fall so I timed it just right.
Ruby, I am absolutely fine thanks. My Bestie goes for her second jab tomorrow and she is not looking forward to it as she wasn't too clever after her first one. Had a stinking headache and felt nauseous but it only lasted 24 hours.
The BBC must be short of programmes to show. Another chance to see the Royal Wedding! I can hardly contain my excitement!

T'Bird, you weren't there when I posted, it sounds as though you had a really good visit to the farm shop. My lemon verbena didn't make it through either and I lost a lot of my thymes. Interestingly they have survived several winters but it must have been the really severe frosts we had after huge rainfalls earlier. I took a few rosemary cuttings and I'm really pleased - and surprised - at how well they have all taken. My lavender cuttings have done well too. Another excuse to replace the thymes though Fingers crossed that they get your email sorted out soon.

Wish I wasn't so dependent on t'interweb and emails LB...
Now you mention thymes - mine aren't looking so clever either. The common one I use for cooking is ok but the more ornamental ones are more twigs than leaves. Think they'll be coming out and either replaced with similar or maybe some prettier alpines.Â
We've just had a heavyish shower. Lasted all of 20 minutes and was more hail than rain - that's the amelanchier blossom gone for another year 🤨 Temp has also dipped down to 8C - think it'll be another log burner night tonight. Gonna need more logs at this rate...

Its lashing down here T'Bird. Sounds daft but I would be happy if my water butts filled up again. They have both had a real run on their contents over the last couple of weeks. My pond has sunk to about 8cm below it's edge and only a month ago the whole pond was under water. Its 9°C here at the moment but due to go down to 1°C tonight. My poor camellia will have even more teabag style flowers on it tomorrow morning.
