Afties all. I've had a pottering day and got stuff done but loads more still to do. Hazel, the shape of the allium buds depends on the type of allium you are growing. Mine is this one:
    Nectaroscordum siculum Sicilian Honey Garlic

RosieBB, you've just reminded me that I have some eggs that need to be used soon. Hazel it must have been lovely to have 23 'buzzing' about in your garden. If we could harness all small peoples energy we would never run out of power. Your lamp sounds very nice. You'll find that very useful on dark winter nights.

I love that allium, Nectaroscordum, @Ladybird4. I planted several in OH's garden in Norfolk. I wonder if they will still be out by the time I manage to go there. No alliums in my new French garden. I will have to save up for a bulb spending spree in the autumn.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Evening everyone . Been mixing grit ,soil and compost to get a looser mix . I now have a large container ready for my sage and potted plants .my alliums are beginning to bud I can’t remember which ones they are .When I received them last year I unpacked them leaving the information on my foot stool ,and went out to plant them . When I came back in the house the info had gone , never found it . I have three suspects!!

Evening all. Yes @Busy-Lizzie, that is one of my favourite alliums but I also like the ones that are like giant purple tennis balls (not got any of those though). I have wild garlic in my front garden, which reminds me I need to go and have a look for those. Can't remember having spotted them yet. Fingers crossed your Nectaroscordum linger long enough for you to see them.
Ruby, you have been busy too. I was impressed with Monty's Mediterranean bowl of herbs last night.
Hazel, they grow up so quickly these days don't they?

  • Hazel, Carol Kleins advice regarding planting snowdrops was to go deep with about half the greenery shooting through.  Separate each bulb rather than cluster planting.  Goodnight everyone.

Good morning all. Sunny here but we had frost. Hope my plant babies survive. Did lots of planting out of seedlings yesterday into bigger pots but then ran out of energy after lunch, ( 2 nights with almost no sleep) unfortunately I forgot to bring in my transplanted plants so hoping they will be okay. What am I like?
Hope you all have a pleasant Sunday planned?
