Chive, had the pictures of the plans done on Monday. Picked a kitchen and ready to buy it. I have ordered a hob and that is getting delivered on Sunday. Down side, the joiner when I spoke to him earlier in the week sounded rather noncommittal (previous conversations he was all upbeat) and I have heard nothing since so I have the feelers out for another joiner. It has gone from exciting to stressful. Thanks for asking 😁
  • Good morning everyone.  Hazel so sorry to hear your news, sending my good wishes.  LB it was definitely hug a mug day yesterday, very cold.  Pauline I hope keeping busy at work helps and the support from your partner.  Sending my good wishes.  Well yesterday I was supposed to have a visit from openreach between 8 an 2pm.  He came around teatime and couldn’t complete due to a short cable after a couple of hours.  Still waiting to hear, rang provider they’ve just received message saying work not completed.  Hopefully I’ll hear in the next couple of days.   Chive I hope you’re keeping warm.  Lily wishing you a good day.

Good Morning RosieBB, nice to see you. Oh these things are never straightforward are they, I hope you hear back from OR soon and get connected.
PurpleRose Sounds like things are well underway with the kitchen very exciting!, hope you can find a joiner who will be reliable.

Afternoon, sun has come out so I may be tempted into the garden for a little potter,
Hazel Great to hear your cold frame has arrived (hopefully this project has taken OH’s mind off painting the stairs for a while🤞) hope your seed trays soon follow on.
    Have a good afternoon.

Afternoon all.  A bit milder outside today. I've watered all the baby seedlings in the raised bed, the radishes and lettuces are doing well.  They are covered with fleece so they are safe and snug.  I've moved toms, cucumbers, and quite a few baby plants into the greenhouse.  I've put a frost free heater in there so they should be alright.  I've also potted up snapdragons, lovelia and larkspur.  They will stay in the conservatory for a week or so before being sent to the greenhouse. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to sow more seeds as I now have room on the windowledge.  Could do with the weather warming up now so that things can move on.
Hope you enjoy your coldframe Hazel, I really love my tiny greenhouse (4ft x 6ft).
Hugs to all those that need them.

Afternoon everyone. I've had a great day with my Bestie and we spent a lot of time just looking at the snowberry on the railway embankment outside her garden and planning our forthcoming battle. We could do with industrial strength flame throwers I think. When I got home I discovered some plants I ordered last year had arrived, heleniums and monkshood, and I got them into the greenhouse as quickly as possible as it has gone decidedly cooler.
PR, lets hope that the joiner was just having an off day and that the kitchen progresses satisfactorily.
RosieBB, what a pain OR are. I hope you request a reduction for all the time you have been offline.
Chive, you sound as though you have been very busy directing the project.  I meant to ask if you had had a nice time with your Mum?
SGL, I hope all of your gardening stuff arrived safely, like Hazel's. Its all very exciting with new stuff. Hazel, I'm sure you will find space.
Yvie, you have been a busy bee too, getting everything protected for the forecast frosts. My GH has a frost free heater but even that didn't help on the one night we had a really severe frost. As I expected, my beautiful Camellia, which you have seen in the past, now looks like the tea bag fairy has struck. Hey ho.

Evening all.  (Never mind LOD - bring back Dixon of Dock Green!).  Good luck to those of you having building work done.  We had our kitchen knocked down and rebuilt the year before last and last year had the bathroom redone, half complete before the first lockdown, finished some time later...  Nightmare.  I simply couldn't face anything else at all this year!

SGL you must be very young. @didyw I remember Dixon of Dock Green and that wonderful lamp he stood under (I think!) There is a similar lamp outside our village police station (no longer used sadly) and I have coveted it for years! They are making you wait SGL until 5 minutes before the deadline. What a pain!
