Morning everyone - another chilly day here. Fingers crossed for some rain otherwise I'm going to have to get the hosepipe out. Must be over a month since we had any decent rain and I have a lot of new plantings.

Sad news day yesterday. I was a bit worried that MIL might find it all a little upsetting. Last Saturday was the anniversary of FIL's death so a reflective time for her - and I thought all the talk of widowhood after so many years of close companionship might have been a little too close to home for her. She's actually fine and spent much of the day watching golf!

She had her 2nd jab this week and felt decidely unwell the next day. No problems the first time. I'm guessing that's down to a strong immune response now she has some antibodies in her system. Will be interesting to hear if anyone else has a similar reaction to the 2nd jab. She's fine now.

Pauline - I'm sorry to hear you have such a long wait for information but at least you are able to get on with making arrangements. I hope all goes well.

@Wildlifer - I'm also a tad curious about your shop. We're coming down to Somerset for a week on Wednesday and looking for places to visit🙂

Keep warm today folks - we'll be out there sterilizing fresh water tanks!

  • Morning everyone.  Hazel and Chive openreach didn’t arrive and the earliest committed date I have confirmed by minusnet is the 20th.  Really hope it’s resolved then as that will be the third day and should have been completed on the 7th.  Fingers crossed.  @didyw i remember seeing a clip of Dixon of dock green.  If only things were like that now.  Lily I’m glad your things have arrived.  LB searching for insurance and the like can be exhausting.  I hope you get sorted soon.  Pauline six weeks is quite a time.  I’m so sorry you are going through this.  Sad news of Prince Phillip, so many tributes.

Hi @Topbird good to see you.
Glad your MIL wasn't upset b yesterday's sad news. Too close to home for her.
Sorry she had a reaction to her 2nd vaccine, hope she wasn't too poorly. Which one did she have?
@bluebellsinthewild sorry you're still having problems with openreach, that's still quite awhile to wait. 🙄

'Sco delivery arrived and is now all packed away. Unfortunately they didn't have any cucumber, bag of salad or coleslaw 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄

@star gaze lily - MIL had the AZ vaccination. I know several people who had minor side effects with the AZ - none with the Pfizer. OH and I both had Pfizer and we were fine other than a tender arm for 24 hrs,

MIL's side effects were the usual minor ones - sore arm and feeling a bit fluey the next day - nothing to worry about - she just took it easy for a day.

Hmm - No cucumber, salad and coleslaw🤔 - it's no good - you'll just have to have chish and fips instead of salad😋
