Morning all. Sunny but very chilly here. Off to SM in a bit then some pre-holiday tasks to complete. Shame I can't cut the grass or water plants in advance - always so much to do last minute.

@Ante30 - I didn't know that about the geranium / mountain link - my new bit of information for today, thank you🙂

I hadn't heard of the mountain and don't think we'll have been past it - looks well worth a visit. On our first trip to Croatia we flew into Dubrovnik & sailed around the more southern area of the coast - very pretty and we had some great meals.

The second time, we flew into Split & headed northwards to sail round the Kornati islands. Both fabulous holidays but the mountain is right between the 2 areas we visited.

Highlight towards the end of the 2nd trip was sailing up to Skradin where we moored for the night and visited the Krka waterfalls - absolutely stunning. Loved it. Want to go back. Right now!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    Morning

I woke up (and it was still dark) to pitter patter on the bedroom window. It stopped and I awoke again to the same. When I decided to investigate, yes you are right we are white over. I was so thankful that it started to melt until it started again about 20 minutes ago, falling fast big snowflakes.

Yesterday, we went to the SM and the snow/hail started on the way. We were driving and all of a sudden the roads were treacherous, even the main roads which were quite busy. I was driving but kelt my cool. Mr PR said to me when we got I to our space you drove really well there. I admitted that I was actually really scared as the roads were so bad and he said he couldn't tell. By the time we got out of the SM. The snow had gone, roads were fine. Very strange. Before we went to the SM we were actually sat having breakfast in the garden in the lovely sunshine and it was quite warm. We wouldn't have set off if we had known what was coming.

Debs, I agree with the challenges of working with the general public and especially over the past year has been tough.

I wanted to do a couple of little jobs in the garden this afternoon. I think those plans will be parked for them time being. I think I will have an afternoon in front of the TV, maybe a Netflix film.

  • Topbird I’m glad your mil is okay now.  LB, Hazel, Chive fingers crossed the works completed on the 20th.  Wildlife’s I had a wash off tattoo when I was younger, but nothing since, enjoy your gardening.   The bin was covered in ice this morning, no snow as forecast though.  Biglad lovely snow picture, glad you got your shopping home.  LB I’m glad you’ve sorted out your insurance now.  PR it just shows you how quickly the weather can change.  Glad your both safely home.  Chive Alfie’s been playing on the bed and really enjoying himself.  He’s a character.  Hope you all have a good day.

Got my car and the last of the shopping home this morning. The sun has been melting the snow rapidly. However, within minutes of parking on the drive, the car slid into the house. No damage done and nobody heard/felt it, so it must have slid incredibly gracefully ;)

I'd gone straight out the back to get a couple of bricks to put under the tyres but obviously didn't move quick enough :o

Afternoon folks,  Haven't seen any snow here today but did get up rather late so may have missed it.  It is really cold but very sunny at the moment.  I've been out and watered the seedlings in the raised bed and checked on everythings else.  Have noticed that one of the hydrangeas has a few scorched ends from the wind and cold no doubt.
Sorry about your work problems @debs64 it must be difficult working with the public at the moment.  Everyone is so stressed, no excuse for bad behaviour though.
Bestie popped round and we had a cuppa and put the world to rights for about an hour.  We are planning a day out on Wednesday, but haven't decided where yet.  It wont be too far.
I've got more seeds to sow but not sure if I will do that today or just flop in front of the TV.  Enjoy your Sunday everyone.
