    It's ironic because me,I  always pay everything up front,no credit card

    Look at it the other way @Nanny Beach ... he could feel insulted if you treat him as if he can't afford to pay for his own stuff.  You need to sort this out ASAP.   :)

    I took him for his second jab this week,he never said a word,I didn't get chance to mention it,Ipositioned him behind the passenger seat and was consentrating on the road because we were going to an area I did not know, difficult parking,but then he rang my mobile yesterday,left a message said could I get him some washing up liquid, I know he couldn't reach the landline,no idea he had a mobile

    Hi everyone,  hardly any rain here,  we really need some now,  plus another 10 C to get things growing.
    Difficult for you @Nanny Beach, but I think you need to ask for a cheque,  as he has no access to cash.

    @Nanny Beach
    ring him back ... say you’ve got the message and you’re happy to do his shopping but did he realise that he already owes you £xxx ... if he doesn’t answer the phone leave a message saying that. Whoever picks it up should help him do something about it.
    Who gets his meals and stuff? Does he have a home help or care staff go in?

    Hi all

    Sorry about your situation @Nanny Beach, hope you get it resolved.

    Been snowing steadily most of the day, not sticking, but pretty miserable.

    Have been trying to sort Mum out, she is now dying having had an embolus to her leg and I have managed to get agreement not to treat it [ not sure I can believe they actually wanted to amputate it ]. Not a pleasant job, especially when you can't visit, but I did at least manage to get agreement for little sis to go and see her.
    Now it is just a waiting game: days or weeks?

  • Horrible dilemma @Nanny Beach and I can understand your reluctance to broach the subject. Equally though, he would probably be horrified if he realised your discomfort and the fact that you were owed so much.

    I am sure if you explained in a non confrontational way he would organise payment. Moving forward, I would suggest he gives you a cheque for a certain amount up front, and you let him know when you have reached the end of the amount (receipts provided of course, and he gives you another one. The lady that makes my scones for me has a little red book and tots up each batch she makes and provides receipts for the ingredients that I don't supply her with. I pay every month and sign the book with a date and amount paid. Sometimes she has lunch at the tearoom and we just knock that off the amount, but it is all in her little red book.
