Thank you all for your kindness during this difficult time. I can't quite believe how exhausted I feel today. I have been going over and over certain things Mum said and it seems she seemed to be going back to events that happened at very specific times in my youth.

I find emotional and stressful visits/journeys always very tiring, so I'm not at all surprised Punkdoc. I would take it easy tomorrow as well. I bet poor Moira is equally exhausted with all the driving.

it's rained solidly nearly all day here, after heavy rain overnight so I'm overjoyed the gardens getting a good soak. Had a good trip to the GC, found some more Patio Magic and Cornflower Blue shed paint and shared some trays of bedding plants with my friend (we didn't need 20 of each). Coffee and cake in lieu of lunch outside a little cafe on the top of the Mendips in the pouring rain was absolutely freezing though. We gave up in the end and sat in the car.

Shame about the rain @Lizzie27, but glad you found the right shed paint. Thought you were giving up cake?

I cleaned the sitting room then went to post the letter in the village. That turned into a walk. I found a new track but after a while it became too overgrown.

So did I, Busy-Lizzie, but my friend went and got it and only told me afterwards that the cafe were also doing toasted sandwiches and baguettes -what could I do???
As well as the Diabetes management course I signed up for, I also rang the surgery back and signed up for the Weight Management course they offered me as well. Hope I've got time left for gardening. According to something called the Devine Chart (?) I should be 7 stone 2 lbs!Β  In my middle seventies and two children later, I don't think so somehow. I don't know anybody that thin, do you?

    Hi folks,
Glad the visit went well @punkdoc , the lead up to it must have been really stressful.Β  Hopefully you will feel better in a couple of days.
Have been potting on seedlings and plug plants today and tidying the conservatory.Β  Only have about 5 trays of seedlings left to pot on, just wish things would warm up a bit.Β  We had a bit of rain overnight but it has been so windy today that it must have dried everything out again.
