Just a thought ... now that Chauvin has been convicted of murder ... what happens about all the other police who stood by and watched him commit murder and did nothing to protect George Floyd?
I was wondering that too, Dove, but maybe the papers have said something and I haven't read it.

We have a good forecast for the next week then some rain but still warm. I am wondering about planting tomatoes. Think I'll sow some French beans.

I'm going to clean the tool cupboards in the new tool room and try to get some order in there. I don't have to wait for the floor to be tiled as it's staying concrete.

Good morning Forkers.  Sunny here but cool at 2C at dawn.  Active cat wanting feeding at the slightest glimmer of daylight but I went back to bed.

Great news about the trial verdict and yes, let's see what happens to the offers who were complicit.  I though US cops swore an oath to "protect" but so many seem to forget that.

Interesting about Bojo and Dyson.   Hope that gets investigated properly.

I see the AZ vaccine seems to be falling victim to lobbying, presumably by the companies who are making a fortune out of theirs whiles AZ is not for profit.

OH has been shorn.  I'm back on weeding and transplanting duties later.

Have fun with your floor @D0rdogne_Damsel and that shed @Busy-Lizzie.   Not putting my babies out at night yet @tuikowhai34

Some of them seem to think they’re only s’posed to protect some particularly favoured people @Obelixx 😡

Morning all, sunny but breezy here to our surprise.
Good result from the US, hope it has a knock on effect.
Good luck with the flooring DD and with the Tool Room (sounds impressive!) Busy-Lizzie. Hope your neck feels easier later @Pat E, but do take it easy for a good couple of weeks, that was a hell of a bang you had.
We're thinking we really ought to plant our second earlies but the soil is so dry, I'm hesitating. Haven't started any veggies off yet as it's still only April.

    Eh up.

The other coppers are due in court in August, on manslaughter charges. Presumably they will now be found guilty.

No fan of Dyson  :), but in this case I think it was the right thing to do.

Not a fan of Dyson either.  We used to love Dyson hoovers but the last one turned out to be pretty rubbish so we now have a Henry.  Difficult one on the ventilators - yes it was an emergency and yes we needed them but Dyson had moved his operations to Singapore because of the Brexit he campaigned for and the fact he could just contact the PM directly does smack more of jobs for the boys.  This govt. seems sleazier than the last 'cash for questions' Tory govt.

I am quite sure there are British factories which can and could make ventilators - wasn't there a Formula 1 car maker which diverted its efforts that way?   Ditto all the PPE they spent millions on sourcing inadequate, unusable PPE abroad when the UK has plenty of companies that were capable and offered but were ignored in favour of "jobs for the boys and girls".  The whole thing smacks of panic, inadequacy, incompetence and worse.

I have no time at all for Dyson or his products and would happily give him a break but not of the kind he would like.

Can’t stand Dyson himself or his products and gave an almost new Dyson vac away in rage and frustration!
I understand what @punkdoc means, but it’s not what was done but how it was done that stinks 😖

Glad that the other cops will have to face the music too. That should focus the minds of all the other US cops when they go on duty.

Many companies were asked, or volunteered to make ventilators. You will not be surprised, that they are incredibly complicated, and it was a surprise that so many usable potential models were made.

Maybe not @Dovefromabove.  They shot a 15yr old girl yesterday and a 13 yr old boy the other day.  Message not sinking in then.
