Good morning all. I hope everyone is feeling well today. Again it’s lovely to hear you all have sun however it’s very cloudy and foggy here this morning. Still waiting on the days I can comfortably sit out in the garden and knit.
I’m gonna pop into the GC today and see what I can get, I don’t really have much of a plan but just whatever catches my eye.
Morning all. Springwatch in full swing here, baby blackbird in an azalea, dunnock display continues and the deer are at leisure with the buck browsing raspberry leaves and the doe dozing in the morning sunshine.
Will be potting on future greenhouse veg then sowing more, I may be running out of window ledge and it is too cold for the greenhouse yet.
Lots of bird activity here too ... busy busy bluetits all over the grapevine and the bay in the back garden searching for spiderlings and another pair on the rosa glauca and viburnum bod by the front window; there must be hungry nestlings nearby. Also a greenfinch in the clematis freckles, again by the front window. I can do my birdwatching from the sofa 🛋

Another bright and sunny day here but perishing cold with a naughty north easterly blasting everywhere. Another bad night so no more meds for me. Can't cope. Need to be up in the mornings and doing, not feeling fuggy and dozy.
Our chooks put themselves to bed at night and then we go down at dusk and bolt the door closed. There are foxes about in surrounding fields and our farmer neighbour thinks one is sleeping in one of the barns but not in our plot - had a trail camera pointed at their pen and shed door for weeks and saw nothing. There are raptors about but they have plenty of rodents and small birds and pigeons to go for.
I have a few bitty DIY jobs to get on with today but am getting frustrated by the weather as I want to be gardening. Too dry and windy for planting out more shrubs. Too dry to weed and get on with transplanting perennials. Too cold and frosty in the mornings so no pruning.
Take care everyone and have a lovely day. Hugs to all who need them especially @punkdoc.

Early start to LeClerc SM this morning and noticed the "International Section" is abound with Marmite, Worcestershire Sauce and Heinz products among other goodies. So maybe Brexit hasn't got this far down yet!!
Great!! @Busy-Lizzie for your vaccination. You should have N° 2 jab before you go to England in July. Hooray!
@Dovefromabove - how lovely to be able to watch the garden activity from the "safety" of your sofa. I have yet to distinguish the birds here, but they are pretty much the same as England, being European. I need to delve a bit more re European species.
I hope that all backs are crick free today so that you will be able to enjoy the garden and the the weather is clement, despite the cold. Yes, it's cool here too. No planting envisaged for the time being.
The blackbirds were looking for worms on the veg patch while I was hanging the washing out so I grabbed a rake and went over a patch ... hope they can find some more lunch.

I share your frustration with the weather @Obelixx.....so dry and so cold. Seriously considering getting the hose out to water the remaining flower beds before they get their layer of mulch (Mr C also has a twingy back, so mulching has been on hold for a week). And I can’t pot seedlings on as it means they will take up too much space, which can’t be freed up until I can get some of the existing pots in the GH outside. What to do, what to do 🤔🤔🤔
Had a lovely catch up with friends yesterday. Windsor Great Park had waived all parking charges as a mark of respect for DofE. A fitting tribute, which the RHS would do well to take note of 🙄
It’s the latest in our Garden Club zoom lectures tonight. Fingers crossed all goes well 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
@punkdoc ((hugs)) glad your mum is happy and comfortable ... doubtless some medication is helping with that. It was the same with Ma and I gave huge thanks for it. It’s tougher on the rest of you and you and your family are in our thoughts. xx

Yes @chicky but the RHS needs the fees cos of all the income lost from cancelled shows and reduced visitors and sales. Must admit I was shocked a few years ago when I visited Sissinghurst (NT) and had to pay entry plus parking fee and it was less interesting, less loved looking and more expensive than nearby Great Dixter.
Round here all public parking fees at our local resorts are waived outside the main tourist season and, at Les Sables, it's free for the Vendée Globe except we chose to park underground at the casino when I met @D0rdogne_Damsel in heavy rain and that's always payable.
At the risk of being gross @punkdoc can they not use maggots to clean up gangrene? I believe they work for some wound infections. Just haven't got to look at them.
Since I can't sensibly do any gardening at the mo my wee brain is in thinking mode. Inside and out. Best not tell Possum and OH yet or they'll get frightened. I was researching wall paints with high light bouncing properties last night. £115 for a 2.5 litre tin of Dulux Light and Space!!! You know about light and colour @Dovefromabove tho a different kind of paint. Can I just add sparkly or pearly bits to ordinary acrylic paint? It's for our dining room which is quite dark.

Little sis has been to see Mum today, said she was very bright, thought where she is, is lovely, no idea it was the hospital.
Sis was very upset by the smell coming from Mums leg, I explained it was gangrene, but clearly should have warned her beforehand.
