Well done you @Busy-Lizzie. Take-up here is so high - and availability so low - there are no cancellations and no new jab slots available now before late May.

So sad, my last two hens were killed today, a pile of beautiful feathers and a corpse. That's 11 chickens and 3 Aylesbury ducks gone in the last 6 months. Neighbour has also lost chickens. Whatever is responsible is coming from above. Onwards and upwards, now the pen is empty we can get the digger and dumper to clear the area and the adjacent overgrown parterre to create the pond/stream and seating area. When bird restrictions are over we will try again with fowl but make sure it has a covered top. We have buzzards, owls, kestrels, kites all nesting in our woodland so think they are the culprits 😡😡
That's heart breaking @sam bevington. I gave up keeping ducks and chickens years ago because of foxes and the farmer's wretched dog. Farmer didn't care.
@Obelixx, I had been trying every day, looking on line for a vaccination slot, never anything. I am also on 3 pharmacy waiting lists. Then someone contacted me to say they'd received vaccines in a centre I'd just looked at, 35 mins away. I looked and there were 85 slots so I booked one. An hour later they were all gone.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
When we had the smallholding we had foxes in the nearby woods ... we built our chicken runs from second-hand chain link fencing from around public tennis courts that were being refurbished. Very tall so we were able to bury the bottom two feet or so to stop tunnelling, and still have plenty of height. It was totally fox-proof, and with bird netting fixed over the top it would’ve been buzzard-proof too. The chain link from tennis courts is worth keeping your eyes open for .., it usually goes for scrap.
Another beautiful if chilly morning here in Norfolk. More coffee has arrived ☕️

So pleased you have got your jab booked @Busy-Lizzie. My friend went last week-end, got the Pfizer and has been absolutely fine, just a slightly sore arm.
Sorry to hear about the cat @rholden_82 and awful too about all those chickens and ducks @SamBevington.
Hopefully we will get up to Les Sables d'Olonne again sonetime @Obelixx although We'll try and pick a sunny day next time. We thought it was fabulous though, even in the rain.
I have 3 Celebration Afternoon Teas to make today, but once they have been collected I will be working on pricking out all my illions of seedlings. I know I don't need them all, but I find it so difficult to kill them off/abandon them.
I just noticed you helped with an I.D. @Dovefromabove, do you think you could have a look at my link too. The first two were quickly identified but then I added another on and I think the post got lost in the crowd.... It seems to be a sort of multi-stemmed tree/shrub. I am not sure if the branches are bendy because it had been struggling for light being swamped by other shrubs or weather it is it's natural growing shape. Any help would be appreciated. After your coffee, of course.
