Sorry to hear about your cat @rholden_82 ... sounds as if you have lots of happy memories.
I've just been out there to get the last of the psb and found great chunks of my Swiss chard eaten away ... OH tells me that he's been watching the woodies enjoying it ... where's that Sparrowhawk when you need it eh? The chard is now under a plastic tunnel cloche. Grrr! I was counting on using that now that the last of the psb has been picked.

Afternoon all. Brilliant to hear most of you have some nice sun today but it’s very cloudy and grey here, which is no surprise as it’s usually the most common weather we have in this neck of the woods I was planning on going to the GC today but I received an email this morning informing me of a delivery I have coming today which I completely forgot I even ordered! Looks like i’m gonna have to wait in and i’ll hopefully be able to get to the GC tomorrow.
Hi @LivMarie98 I told WonkyWomble about your ME ... she sends you best wishes for your degree course ... she's really busy at the moment, but hopes to get on here before long ...

Hi Dove! Let her know i said thank you very much and that i’m over the moon that she feels much better these days. That is very sweet of you both and i appreciate it very much How is your back doing this afternoon? Is the deep heat working?
It’s a lot better thanks. I’m trying not to do daft things (like lift cast iron casseroles off the floor in the pantry 🙄) and have persuaded myself that washing the floor in the downstairs loo isn’t urgent 😉 My OH is at home until Saturday so he’s keeping an eye on me and welding the Deep Heat 😂 By the way .., I had my family young and did my degrees in my 40s ... my OH took a couple of years out before doing his ... doing things a bit differently is great. 👍

Hello Forkers. Dreadful sleep last night but not, oddly, caused by the stupid knee which is good, I suppose. Up late then and some minor pottering fixing a light in a cupboard, varnishing some wood to protect it and sorting out lunch.
Flipping cold again despite bright sunshine and frosts expected till Saturday now. It's bone dry too and no rain forecast.
Glad you're healing well @Pat E and feeling draughty for the right reasons @chicky. Good luck with the handover @Biglad. Hope the back eases @Dovefromabove. I have a crown fitting booked on the 29th and, it seems, 2 or 3 more needed after that. I am scrupulous about dental hygiene but my teeth are crumbling anyway. B*ggeration.
Stay safe and well everyone.

@Dovefromabove That sounds exactly like my mum! She suffers from a bad back due to a slipped disc but there’s still no stopping her. She’s always making something with wood when she has the chance. In fact she tells me that sitting down and doing nothing actually increases her pain and she starts to seize up. I’m glad you have your OH there to help take care of you though Dove, he seems like a good un! And yes it can be quite disheartening when I see people my age finishing Uni and getting their own homes and starting families and I can barely leave my house more than twice a week but I always stay optimistic and I realise that I can go at my own pace. Thank you for the support
Hi everyone, Lovely sunny day here, but still chilly in the shade. I've had to water the pots and new plants as everything is so dry. Dug up a couple of shrubs one wasn't doing well and both were in the wrong place. I'm going to replace them with Dahlias and a new Peony I have on order. Pulled a few weeds out and will be mowing the lawns when the batteries have charged up.
@LivMarie98 when my daughter was in her teens she had a friend who came down with ME and couldn't take A levels or go to Uni. It took a while but she now has a degree and is doing well in her job. She was in a wheelchair for ages but is fine now, it just takes time.
@rholden_82 Sorry to hear about your cat. Pets become such a part of the family and it's so sad when you lose one.
Hello folks, what a lot is going on! Glad your stitches are out @Pat E and your scar healing. Looks as though you've still got a nasty black eye though. Sorry to hear about your cat @rholden_82, it's awful when a beloved pet dies, we still miss ours after ten years. I can't contemplate getting another cat, ours was such a character. Commiserations to all those with achy backs and sore teeth. I've just had my spinal & pelvis X-rays appointment come through for early May, thought I might have had to wait for months in the present circumstances. I've potted up the tiny plugs into seed trays this morning and put them in the guest bedroom until it warms up some more. It's quite nice today so I'm just going out again.
