Morning everyone, dry & bright here. Glad you are on the mend @Pat E . Not sure what I will do today as I have to listen out for the call from garage. By leaving it overnight they can make an early start. Anyway the life Scientific is on R4 now.
I've just booked a dental check up for 7th June ... think my last visit was in December 2019! I thought they might be booked up months ahead but they seem to be very organised.

Morning all 😀 Glad your head is mending nicely @Pat E. And good that you are now fit for work again @Hostafan1. And sorry to hear your sad news @Allotment Boy .....always a shock ☹️
Hair is now much shorter and very much lighter.....my neck is a bit chilly 🧣. Off to meet some old friends (Uni days) for a walk around Virginia Water this afternoon. First time I will have seen them IRL for 18months....although there has been a fair bit of zooming in the interim.
Really fancy some Thalia daffodils for next year .....I think they are so elegant. So have just taken some pictures of the space I have planned for them, so hopefully come October I don’t dig up the treasures that are already there. How organised is that ???? 🤣
This is obviously a productive morning @Chicky ... not only have I booked a dental checkup for June, I've also saved us money by selecting a new dual fuel tariff and done a survey with Sainsbugs which means I've been entered for a prize draw

In the midst of a 'handover week' with work, which basically means being available to the new incumbent to ring with a million questions about the shambles of a job. Of course the quick answer is, "I know that's not being done right. Can you see why I resigned now?"
On the plus side, I will be able to start sneaking into the garden. Very tempted to plant out some peas this morning. They germinate so quickly, I'm happy to risk a couple of wigwams worth of my seedlings to free up the back porch for a tray of tomato seeds. I planted some in my youngest's garden a couple of weeks ago and they're still ok so it's worth a punt even if the threat of frost still looms for a while yet.
I can really tell the difference in temp between the sun and shade today. In the sun, it's shorts and T-shirt weather. In the shade, the snow hasn't yet melted
Dentist done at 9a.m. - extraction of molar which went bad just as the first lockdown happened. It has been a long year of careful eating but now I can switch back to seeded bread. Simple pleasures, eh?
Noticed I have some broad beans shooting in the greenhouse but they can wait a bit as I am not supposed to do anything energetic today. Will just be enjoying the wildlife - deer going back and forth to the woods and our lovely little dunnock displaying as if his life depended on it.
Bumpy weekend this weekend as my lovely cat fell ill and we had to have her put to sleep yesterday She was 15 and had had a lovely life but it doesn't make it any easier.
The garden this weekend as always was my space of calm being able to plant up the newly delivered "tumbling toms" in our hanging basket ready to go out when it's a touch warmer - still bringing them in at night at the moment. I also managed to spy some sunflowers poking their heads out of the toilet rolls, planted my cucamelon seeds for my other hanging basket, some more sweet peas and some echium "blue bedder" that came on a magazine!
The shed/greenhouse is nearly complete, expecting him back this weekend to finish the glazing and put a final stain on the outside. Just want to get in there now!!
Final job that needs to be done this week is to prop up those allium leaves. I am going to make some supports using bamboo canes and garden wire and then pop them in - fingers crossed they work!!
Chamomile, coriander, basil and marjoram romping away in the conservatory now with the hardening off beginning shortly so that they can go on my staging in the garden through the summer.
Lets hope this week continues with sunshine and promise
You might need to let that cavity heal a bit first before you attempt seeded bread @steephill.
@Biglad, I have exactly the same problem hjere with the sun and the shade, I spend ages chasing the sun with all my seed trays, I need something on wheels.
