Ah @B3 peeling off the layers in hot weather is very dodgyΒ  :DΒ

Feel for you @didyw living on my own under 'house arrest' has its positive side, no one is complaining there is nowhere to sit/eat/make food/get out of the door.........

I peeled off my top layer this morning as I finally moved the citrus pots out of the polytunnel to front of house against a south facing wall.Β  Β Went out an hour or two later to fetch OH in for lunch and needed my long sleeved top on again.

So much for starting the tanning process!

Goodness @Obelixx I dare not bring my citrus out of the greenhouse, in fact they both give me a dirty look if I open the door

In a normal year they come out in late march to mid April @herbaceous.Β  last year April and May were a heatwave with drought.Β  Β This year we've had frosts or very low temps with added wind chill but not tonight.

2C forecast tonight with a northerly breeze so the citrus will be OK against their wall but the half hardy fuchsias have to stay in another night and then we won't get colder than 5C and they'll be fine.

'Bout time!Β  I want to get the PT cleaned up ready for baby tomatoes and chillies.

What if this is all there is for the rest of May @Obelixx and possibly even June?

Noooo!Β  In normal years we have a Garden Street Market in my little town, usually the 2nd Sunday in May.Β  And it is usually so hot that the growers request being on the North side of the street so their plants don't scorch.Β Β

If it's going to rain I wish it would get on with it.Β  A dozen spots then dry again is no use to anyone or anything. πŸ˜–

I think most of the country is predicted heavy rain tomorrow and flood warnings have been published. Thankfully ours is in the afternoon so hopefully we wont' get wet in the morning!

Our local sailing club has newbie lessons tomorrow morning. Glad I'm not on that course!! Although the weather is due to get bad in the afternoon. Today we had hail so I don't hold out much hope for the timing of the forecast being right tomorrow.

The last time I went out sailing on my own the wind picked up unexpectedly and the rudder ripped clean off the boat leaving me sat shivering on a mud bank for half an hour before some kind stranger rescued me.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
