Yviestevie, worth taking the car registration number, and checking it on the gov.uk website. You can find out if it’s taxed, insured and has a current MOT, and if not, I’d take great pleasure in reporting them!

    Evening.

The bargain Clematis Montana I bought last Summer has buds on! Much excitement here (doesn’t take much these days 😂).

Hope all are well and all is well.

It's been a lovely warm sunny day and I've been in the vegetable garden. Lots of weeding, digging and planting of lettuces and cabbages. I'll sow broad beans tomorrow, I usually do it earlier than this but been too busy with my new flower garden beds. The vegetable garden was a mess, covered in weeds, especially huge dandelions.

The builder has plastered my new study, plumber has put in the pipes for the shower and the builder will start plastering the new utility room tomorrow.

It's not a dropped curb, as such, we have a garage, with a parking space in front of it, we did call the non emergency(Police) line, and were told because we don't own the parking space, just the garage, - hard luck.  When I was nursing back in the 80s someone parked in front of our garage, where we used to live, rang the Police, because I couldnt get my car out to go to work, was told hard luck then as well.

@Nanny Beach If there’s a garage how do you access it without a dropped kerb? 😕
The parking laws have changed since the 80s. Think it was in 2003.

We have beavers! https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/mar/24/pair-of-eager-beavers-released-in-south-downs-to-help-boost-valley-wildlife The site is just around the corner from us but I guess there will be a mad rush to catch sight of them.

How exciting @steephill, but I hope the mad rush doesn't frighten them away!

  • Had a bonus today, was supposed to start my new job but my references only landed yesterday and IT haven't set my account up so start Monday. So was able to finish the start of the veg plot; never done one before. Have 20 m2 of raised beds which OH has kindly made. Housed on the pig sty so soil should be good. Spent the afternoon sowing toms, cucumber,  basil, coriander, chilli, pepper. Don't you say to yourself "Oh s***" when you read on the back of the packet it says 1000 seeds - how tiny will they be?? I think I managed to sow some white foxgloves, have loads self seeding but just wanted some white ones to lighten up more shadey areas. Better go to Specsavers!!

    Morning all.

You did sow them indoors didn't you @sam bevington?  Those seeds need warmth. Or am I being daft? :)

@Dovefromabove we were talking about the bad tempered donkey and manure collecting on another thread. He has never been badly treated, they've had him since he was 6 months. They are kind people but they know nothing about donkeys and he's lived alone all his life. He's lonely and bored and doesn't understand that live would be better if he were gentler to people. They only had him castrated last year, aged 10.

Gloomy outside, may rain. I wanted to get on with the veg garden. Oh well, may have to be HW and ironing instead.
