    Morning all.
Good luck with the vaccination @D0rdogne_Damsel. OH didn't have any side effects, just slightly sore arm.

That rhubarb looks nice @Dovefromabove. I don't have any here, yet. Left 3 plants behind but they rather struggled with Dordogne heat in the summer. I must plant some raspberries.

Yesterday I finished the shrub bed and did some weeding in the vegetable garden.

The electrician/plumber was due to come this morning but he's still finishing another job, should be here soon. He's going to wire up the new study in the garage conversion and plumb in the dishwasher, which needs pipe work to the kitchen tap pipes and waste.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

We have already had some Yorkshire Rhubarb, although not our own, @Dovefromabove.

Still prevaricating here, about what i should do first.

This hasn’t even been forced @punkdoc ... not even an upturned bucket or a piece of sacking over it ... it was up to its ears in snow just a month or so ago. It’s Timperley Early.Ā

I’m really must split this clump before too long @Busy-Lizzie ... I was going to do it this last autumn but as we couldn’t meet up with anyone to hand a piece over it just didn’t happen. Ā I don’t suppose you’d be allowed toĀ import it into France if I gave you a piece next winter would you?

Not legally @Dovefromabove.Ā  Supposed to have a phyto sanitary certificate now for all movements of plants and seeds between UK and the EU and NI.

I bought a small plant of Victoria a week or two ago - the only variety I've seen here - but it and the original plant are only a couple of inches high so far and they're under a cold frame to keep the chooks off.Ā  Ā  I doubt if we'll get more than a couple of sticks this year.

Very nippy here out in the breeze but it is sunny.Ā  I'm busy with woodwork this am - waiting for some glue to go off - and helping Possum sort thru clothing for recycling purposes.Ā  Ā Seed sowing and pottering outside this pm tho as we're set to get to double figures.

Chooks are on form again.Ā  6 eggs today.Ā  Ā Cooked breakfast for lunch then.Ā  Ā Champ with dinner as a nod to my bit of Irish ancestry.

If it’s not legal then it’s not legal. My farming background means I’m very aware of the dangers of spreading disease and alien species. Ā I can’t remember if @Busy-Lizzie ā€˜s OH has rhubarb in his Norfolk garden šŸ¤”Ā

  • I understand where you are coming from @Dovefromabove, and I certainly wouldn't take the chance of being caught and fined, but in terms of spreading diseases, up until the 31st of December 2020 it wouldn't have been an issue. It is all frustratingly bizarre.

Anyway, my legal hostas have arrived, 3 x 7cms pots - so what do I do with them now @Hostafan1. I have chosent theĀ  spot, it is well dug over and weeded, what next? Any advice gratefully received. :)
