Never much liked her in the past. Too enthusiastic and overdramatic for me.
However i'm loving her current series of programs to the extent that she's become my favourite replacement for Monty. Adam's too much like Monty and i hate cats! Not enough substance to the Gardeners world programs in recent years, too much of not a lot of anything.
Carols recent programs have been excellent, carry on and knock Monty off the top spot.

I don't think it's a competition, plenty of room for both.
I'd rather watch CK but MD has plenty of adoring fans. It doesn't seem too crazy for them both to front programmes. Given the TV time given to cookery and sport and "celebrity" exploits, I'm sure one more gardening programme wouldn't be considered excessive.
Hi I'm new to the site and to gardening too, other than buying every year and planting and hoping for the best! 😉 I watched CK's show and found her advice for growing from seed, cuttings, etc really informative. So much so that her enthusiasm for growing yourself has led to my husband ordering me a greenhouse. To say I'm super excited to get started is an understatement. I've even earmarked an area to start growing veg and fruit.
Nice to get two more episodes to watch...but wish Channel 5 would just show a bit more trust in her and commission more than a season comprised of two episodes. But at least it's good they recommissioned it, the viewing/streaming figures were deemed good enough to. I suppose the image on 5 isn't exactly linked with that kind of programming, but if anything like Jane McDonald proved is that if they take a risk and programme away from their ingrained image it may get them a surprising number of new viewers. Before the success of all the Cruising series most people thought of the slightly sleazy early 00s programming as being their natural territory.
I feel Carol is an old fashioned gardener who knows her stuff and can talk to both beginers and more experienced gardeners. One of the 'old school' like my favourite Geoffrey Smith.

There are 5 programmes, and a further 5 in the autumn (I posted about it on the 'programmes to watch' thread).
