We've been saying for a long time that there's need for more beginners info on GW.  This fits some of the bill.

Just watched this and was surprised that she suggested you could  plant a climbing hydrangea and a wisteria in containers.

Blast! Missed it. Now looking for catch-up on channel 5. I’ll be watching the rest of the series though, thanks for that.
Carmarthenshire (mild, wet, windy). Loam over shale, very slightly sloping, so free draining. Mildly acidic or neutral.

Yes. I thought that was a bit strange too @K67. But I suppose there's containers and containers. My neighbours have a white wisteria in a very large terracotta pot. It seems to be doing ok as a free standing plant.

I thought it was great. Watched on catch up this morning, i do have serious garden envy though!
  • I was very impressed with Carols programme. The way she talks, it is aimed at everyone, no matter what expertise level you are. You can see that gardening is her passion, she talks with such enthusiasm and love. I really enjoy Carol's segments on GW and I have thoroughly enjoyed this. Hopefully it is successful and there will be more series to follow.

Nice program but a did find myself playing with my phone bit to targeted for new gardeners which is fine, GW has plenty for newbies as well in my opinion .

That Cornus Controversa is absolutely stunning, a plant I've always wanted . Nice to see bit of their garden .

There is an assumption of knowledge in GW. Probably they're trying to be all things to all (wo)men.
This programme explains everything.  Some terminology that is obvious to a gardener with a little experience is a totally scary mystery to a lockdown novice

I really like Carol and her enthusiasm and I enjoyed the programme. But I can't help feeling that her garden is rather untidy and I like some lawn to set off the plants. Her cornus controversa is gorgeous and I wish I could have taken mine with me when I moved house.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
