Good morning everyone. Raining this morning. Glad you slept well LB. I did too, not been up long. Feel so much better this morning. Cheese and coleslaw sandwiches Rosie, hope you didn't have weird dreams 😉 Ooh those pancakes look yummy, forgot it was pancake day today😋😋 Have a good week off Chive. Have a good day everyone take care.
Morning Ruby, Chive, Debs and SGL. Scratches are fine Ruby. I never worry about them once they've had a good wash with warm soapy water. Scratches are an occupational hazard in my garden. Its definitely lemon and sugar on pancakes for me Chive.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good Morning Debs & SGL, Pleased you had a good nights sleep and feel better now SGL, Debs I hope the new family are all doing well, your grandson is a little treasure 🤗 LB How are the roadworks going? Thankfully the rain washed away the remaining snow/ice yesterday so i hope to get in the garden this week.
Roadworks have finished in the Crescent but they have continued further up the Lane. Of course they didn't think very carefully about placement of traffic lights and potentially turning right out of the Crescent - unless you are in the correct flow - could lead to you driving straight into oncoming traffic. There was almost an incident yesterday afternoon with lots of blaring car horns as one poor driver accidently got into the wrong stream.

Morning🙂 It's a rather grey and drizzly day here. All the snow and ice disappeared yesterday and it was a lovely sunny afternoon but everything is far too wet to make gardening enjoyable at the moment. Hopefully get out there a bit later in the week.
LB - you're right that scratches, bruises and aching muscles are part of gardening. Funny how I'll tolerate real discomfort and work through gardening injuries - but I'll stop walking at the slightest excuse of a twinge from anywhere. Really not a walker at all - get very bored, very quickly.
Debs - your new grandson is a handsome chap. We have yet to meet our 'new' great-nephew born in October - and there's another baby due in April.
Our other niece is having a little girl who she's already named Nancy. So we have one called Ivor (who will always be a steam engine), Orson (who will forever be a big guy with a beard and cigar) and now Nancy - girl detective extraordinaire. I have to bite my tongue when the names are announced as I'm not sure the nieces would share my sense of humour.
They certainly didn't appreciate OH's comment of "I'm glad his surname's not Biggen" when Ivor was named🤣
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Afties all. Good to see you T'Bird. Your story about the names made me smile and reminded about my nephew's two little boys who are called Teddy (Theodore) and Frankie (Franklin) and whose parents are mercilessly teased about them having a 'thing' about the Roosevelts. At one stage during Teddy's development the name Stanley was being bandied about. As this was the place of my birth I've nothing against the name per se but not for a baby. When Theodore was finally decided upon the family came to the conclusion that it was better to be named after a chipmunk then a power tool.
Love your OH's dry comment too. Brought a smile to my face.
It also reminded me of the son of a friend of mine who, when once describing his favourite read - Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, actually said the book was called Hardy Drew and the Nancy Boys. He was very puzzled at our hysterical laughter.

Afternoon everyone, LB Gosh the right turn out of your crescent sounds hair raising if you’re not careful! The Nancy boys that is comical 😁 Topbird The garden is extremely wet underfoot, i think my efforts will be limited. I had to smile at your first names association, it is hard to picture a tiny baby with such a grown up name. It’s started to rain, my plans to go outside for the afternoon have been scuppered.
Afternoon Hazel You and OH are such a productive team, I hope you’re not suffering too much after your efforts yesterday. I have been sorting out kitchen cupboards that contain things that seldom come out, travel kettle, gravy boats, ice cream maker, electric-mixer, the worktop was starting to look like a generation game line up 🤔
Afternoon all, Funnily enough Mabel would have been Stanley if she had been a boy. I'm glad she wasn't. When Jonah was born he escaped being called Atticus and Gabriel was nearly Jessie.
I've been quite lazy today after a busy day in the garden yesterday. Glad you're feeling a bit better SGL. Chip shop fish and battered chips tonight.
