It is so lovely getting outside for a bit and sounds like you have had a good go in the garden LB. I must admit, I would have been probably having a screech and running away from your frog/toad. I am petrified of them. We have a resident frog who seems to follow me around the garden and appears wherever I am. My scariest moment was when I was clearing out under a hedge and one leapt at me squealing (i didn't even know they made that noise) My neighbours know its nothing to worry about when they hear me, they know it's a frog or toad tormenting me. I am sure when tadpoles become frogs, the elder frogs teach them to torment the lady in the garden 🤣🤣
Enjoy the rest of your week, Chive. I hope you are all rested for next week in case your pupil numbers do increase.
LB, sounds thatt you had a nice day in the garden.Â
Hazel, good luck with MOT. I had my week ago and it passed well.
Chive, enjoy at half term break.
It was annoying day at school, like all this week. I'm glad that tomorrow is Friday and weekend. Was at SM after school and at cottage. It's so wet and cold. My order of seeds potatoes and onions arrived so I must collect them tomorrow. I'll make tea and watch tv. Can't read anymore today.
PurpleRose Your post did make me smile the neighbours know you well 😀 but must confess I didn’t know frogs squeal either, a big spider will do it for me 😱
Hi Ante nice to see you, what a lovely bright cheery display those Primulas make. You sound very busy still, has all your building work finished now at home? Hope you’ll have a break at the weekend and some time to relax.Â
Hi everyone, had a phone call this morning from our health centre, asking if I would be able to go to have my vaccine. Think they must have had some cancellations, I wasn't expecting to have mine for a few more weeks. So off I went and had my 1st vaccine, had to go a few miles away as our health centre isn't doing vaccines. But apart from a tender arm 🤞🤞 I feel ok so far. The Dr told me to drink lots of water for a few days. I took some paracetamol before I went and have taken some more since being home.
Haven't read back, but Hope you're all well. Saying night night everyone sleep well and sweet dreams. Gorgeous primulas Ante, lovely coloursÂ
Evening @star gaze lily SGL oh that’s brilliant news, so pleased to hear you’ve had your vaccination today. The advice to help with reducing any discomfort sounds good so fingers crossed for you, hope you have a good nights rest.Â
Signing off for tonight, Goodnight everyone, sleep well.Â
Great news on your covid jab SGL. My arm is feeling much less tender now - should be fine in the morning.
Hazel - you asked about our holiday plans. The only thing we've made 'proper' bookings for is in August / September when OH wants to cycle from Lowestoft (most easterly point on mainland) to Ardnamurchan point in Scotland (most westerley). I'll be riding shotgun in the new campervan.
In May we're hoping to go to Northumberland for a week, and in late June we've booked a couple of sites in SW and N Devon - but they're all Caravan Club bookings which means no deposit paid & easily cancelled if things are still too difficult.
Hoping to drive the Fosse Way stopping off at various sites in April - but that's looking much less likely now.
We'd really like to get back to Germany in the autumn but anything abroad this year is starting to look increasingly messy!
Off to bed now - hoping to get outside tomorrow🤞
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Didn't even set foot outside yesterday and have no idea where another week has gone whilst my head has been down!
If I've skim-read correctly, do some of you get your garden waste bins collected year round? Mine is pretty full but Nov-Feb they don't collect. Can't wait for it to be empty as it will be an incentive to start filling it again Â
I must have been more tired than I thought last night as I fell asleep before 21:00. Had a good night's sleep. Hoping to get to 'sco today. The temporary traffic lights have been moved further up the lane so are not now causing a problem.
Biglad, my green bins are emptied all year round because any food waste that I don't want to be put on my compost heap goes in them from a caddy in the kitchen along with the usual green waste.
SGL, good news that you and your OH have had your first vaccines.
Ante, your bargain primulas are so pretty and what a happy sight they make on a Winter morning. One more day Ante and you can please yourself what you do.
PR, like Chive, I smiled when I read your post about frogs. It must be a nightmare for you, venturing out.
T'Bird, your post reminded me of the Travel Show on the Beeb. I do hope that things start to get easier and that you do manage some of your planned outings. I've got my fingers crossed for a France trip in Autumn too.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning all. Hoping it stays dry for my walk with my sister. Work not getting any easier so also fingers crossed for a weekend in the garden to save my sanity!Â
So pleased to hear so many of you are getting your vaccines it’s a weight off your mind and another step closer to a return to normal life which I think we all need.Â
