    I just made an order with them... I saw those Illluminations but I didn't get any, I think they had 3 or 4 different varieties..

    I bought some Coleus of all things..

    @Marlorena You very kindly offered to have a look at my Harlow Carr, the light in the photo is a bit odd but here's one that has sent a new shoot into the world - is that a sucker? Do I snip it off? Thank you in advance

    @Loppers Where did you buy your Harlow Carr roses?

    @Loppers
    ..thanks for the photo.... no you're ok, that's not a sucker it's part of the rose.. ground looks a bit dry, and it could do with some watering and a good thick mulch...  always try to mulch your roses after feeding them, if you can... multi purpose compost is excellent for the purpose... a nice thick layer, you will be surprised the difference it makes..

    @Nollie, I sow zinnia outside after frost risks are over. I am terrible with indoor sowing and seedlings management.

    @Marlorena Thanks so much, that's great. I will water them and mulch - and feed? I have compost I can mulch with and/or some leaf mulch that's been a few years in the making.

    @edhelka I treated myself and got them from David Austin bare root. I even got the magic powder they recommend. Then drafted in my husband to help digging the holes for them, the ground was really clay'y so added some soil improver.

    They've had a lot of fuss and tbh caused me a lot of stress! I'm new to roses really and not sure I've got the constitution! 😊

    Poly is choc full of veg then @newbie77! Tbh I’m too lazy to bother with most flower seeds unless there is something I really want and can’t buy.

    @Marlorena yes, very lovely, just a single bloom, but lots of nice clusters developing, can’t wait to see her in full flow.

    Actually I have a question for you, @edhelka and @JessicaS, as I recall you grow one or both of Souvenir de St Annes and Eyes for You. As I have bought more roses than planned, I’m having to jiggle my plans so could you tell me about growth habit and width/height of those roses for you? I know it depends on climate etc., but an idea would be helpful.

    HMF states SdeSA as 150-200cm H x 120cm W and EfY at 140cm H x 80cm W but I’m wondering if SdeSA in particular is US climate extra large?

    Do they grow to those sorts of sizes for you and which would be easier to keep a bit smaller with pruning?
