..clever photography... at least this time of year the sun is up early and quite strong, so burns things off fast...

..yes, that rose is so nice, but as you read, I felt it could have bloomed a bit more, even so it's a rose worth keeping..

"I grow some modern roses as annuals"

Wow. New to me! How does that work?

I know what you mean about MacPlants, crazy isn’t it...I went to our local garden centre to buy some compost, the plants are all rather on the dear side though so only bought a few. Did check out their range of roses which include sections for DA, Harkness, and Beales, but wasn’t tempted. Miracles do happen 🤔

I have been keen to try the ixoplexis type foxgloves @edhelka, but can’t get any. Probably just as well, they are unlikely to survive my winter lows. I shall look forward to seeing yours instead 😊

Now here is a puzzle - is this own-root or grafted and if grafted, what rootstock? Doesn’t look like laxa. It’s my dead Mutabilis that I have just dug out. Any ideas? It was from TCL, like yours @Omori - is yours still alive?

..that looks grafted to me.. the roots are too thick for own root, and I also think it's on Laxa..  I would guess the roots were dead when you got it, or near as.. they look dead to me... if you cut through them are they brown?..
