I cut a bunch of viburnum carlesii to keep at my desk. It won't last as cut flower, but for a day, my room is fragrant. Until roses come, I am thinking of cutting whatever is fragrant in the garden.
Lovely bloom @Nollie must be nice getting them already.
Those viburnum are so pretty @newbie77 and a bonus that they are fragrant. I don't have anything to bring in from the garden until the roses start. Do you have it in full sun?
I'm still waiting for the forecast rain to fill my water butts but nothing yet. Just very strong winds that blew my bird table across the garden.
@poppyfield64, I have one in sun and the one in shade. I hadn't thought about the shade while planting. It was in pot in sun for last 2-3 years and I only planted last autumn in ground. Will report back how the shade one is doing as compared to sun one in future.
My previous house was a bungalow with wraparound paved area and I had many plants and shrubs in pots on paved area. And then I used to move whatever was fragrant and blooming under kitchen window. Only last year I have planted those in current garden. Here no kitchen window, so I have started getting a little posy indoors.
Austins are noted for their vigour and 'Desdemona' is no exception... capable of 6 foot if reaching for light.. always one of my first to flower and I expect this end of April..
If your happy enough then @tack, I’m obviously too picky. In fact, I know I am!! Sometimes rose deliveries take two weeks to get here due to rubbish couriers at the Spanish end.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Tack, I wish they will recover and grow well. Carminia is looking so pretty and delicate in the photo Omori has posted. I think its nice to have a bit of surprise when a plant you havent seen much online grows and flowers.
Even I have dilemma about watering the pots or not as it seems to be sunny, dry and windy with occasional snowflakes. For now I am relying on my moisture checker.
You're not wrong @Nollie but I don't blame TCL if the courier company took 9 days, but maybe they shouldn't send them out before Easter. I was promised them mid March hmm maybe it is their fault. But then I've not had a rose die on me yet

Yes so dry here too and very cold and windy.
Yes that’s the case with Olivia, which is in a part sun border and reached 5’ last year.
