    Did you get the rose 'Special Brother' with your brother in mind @Marlorena? Lovely idea, what colour is it?
    I have Royal William as my Dad adored red roses, Winchester Cathedral as my Mum was born there and Gertrude Jekyll, my late best friend's favourite.

    ...thanks... and yes I did, but it's the same rose I showed a photo of yesterday.. 'Amethyst Star' under an alternative family name, so I've bought it under both names..  it's purple colour...
    ..I see you have some sentimental roses too...  it's nice to be reminded of those special to us in some way..

    @Fire
    ...yes it would be ok, assuming a suitable size pot,  or until it starts to deteriorate, then some maintenance will have to be applied of course... that way, you can keep a rose going in a pot almost indefinitely..

    Very light covering but it was snowing very prettily this morning.

    Stopped now though and it's mostly gone at the front.

    Does anyone know if DA has new varieties for this year and if so when will they go on sale. I’ve got a DA gift voucher burning a hole in my pocket.

    @Bright star if the burning is causing discomfort, I would happily take it off your hands... Purely out of kindness of course 😉

    New DAs will come out with the new catalogue early March.

    Although last year they put them on the website in January by mistake, but then pretended like it hadn't happened.

    Pretty dusting of it here, melting now in the sun, but set to continue all night.

    @Marlorena Oh yes you have the same make of fence, I looked at that one!  With my large but low hounds its pushing through or running jumps! Im eying up a black obelisk and maybe a black iron arch to match.

    Can't believe there's another huge rose thread already. Bookmarking. :smiley:

    JessicaS, love the fence!
