..oh gosh I'm busy today.. I'll go back to sleep in a mo'...
...an unusual climbing rose 'Chawton Cottage'.. an Hulthemia hybrid .. nice red shoots. .. a shoot from 'Mrs. Paul'.. an old Bourbon rose, showing how they break from all the way down the canes, even if not angled.. although this one is slightly..
@Perki .oh Heavens - loads... I've forgotten exactly although I keep the labels, but in todays batch I got some Delphiniums of the Belladonna group as they do best for me here... don't need staking.. I also got a Sea Lavender, which may be an annual type.. more Hemerocallis 'Stafford' .. more Digitalis as I omitted to grow from seed.. few other bits and bobs.. I also got an order from Penlan Perennials a couple weeks ago, they were good too... I've planted them all now but I recall a Thalictrum rochbrunianum, Campanula persicifolia 'alba'.. those Veronicastrums I told you about,.. oh and some of those daisy thingies.. sorry mind gone a blank... oh yea, Coreopsis 'American Dream'.. they're pink..
I ordered from Macplants 2 years ago and was very happy with my order. I would love to order again - they have some plants I would really love to have, which would fit perfectly in my garden - the problem is, I have something between 10 and 20 plants outside in 9cm or 1l pots from the Secret Gardening Club and from Beth Chatto, bought in autumn. I at least potted on some of them two days ago but I need to get somehow organized because I have no idea what I have there, where I want to plant them and if I can find space for some new plants. I also have no idea what survived the winter. @Nollie I tried both hay and pellets last year, the juice was similar from both. Maybe give the hay a little bit longer, depending on the outside temperature. It looks like you have much warmer weather than we have. Alfalfa needs some warmth to brew well and to work well.
The Vitax Azalea looks like it would be a better rose food than their rose food! That’s the one I was looking out for as a DA substitute, in case my alfalfa experiment didn’t work out. DA aren’t shipping to Europe and their food is out of stock in any case.
Speaking of DA, these two - Lady Emma Hamilton (rear) and Golden Celebration (foreground) have been threatened with the shovel several times, but always manage to escape it for various reasons. About 2/3rds of the height of GC is new growth already, it was chopped right down to nowt in winter:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
My 1st order from Macplants has just arrived, 3x euphorbia polychroma, 3x aster violet queen and penstemon stapleford gem. Plants are excellent quality and beautifully packaged. Will definitely be ordering from them again!😀
Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.
@edhelka, that’s good to know, thanks for the tip, will leave it for a week. I used warm water to get it going, so hopefully that will help. Fairly warm daytime temps just now but still dropping overnight to near 0.
Yes, it’s lovely to see all that foliage, @Omori 😊

Lady of the Lake arrived today. I’ve not seen it, but my wife popped the package in the shed.
Will plant on Saturday hopefully.
Thanks for the blue moon rose info
