Lovely pics and experiences from all of you. Envy the number of roses everyone has. Hope to learn a thing or two from these forums.

@Mr. Vine Eye Your Malvern looks like a fine beast.

Have you had any news about your allotment case, trustees response and police intervention? Are you going to stay?

@Fire - no news. Last week I was called by the police, but basically to say that he couldn’t do anything until he’s contacted council. Asked if I had a number for the person dealing with it but I didn’t. So I gave the email address that i’d been using.

I then got an email from council on Thursday to say that:

The officer had contacted them - they arranged a phone call for Friday evening - but as officer was an emergency responder it would depend on if there was a 999 call.
Also - to please not go on that plot anymore as it needed to be left to the authorities.
(I sincerely hope that he’s been told the same!!)

That was last I heard. But I know from when I contacted the police before that he won’t be back at work til today. So might hear something.

I went to the plot yesterday, everything was fine there, nothing bad had happened in the meantime. I did some tidying up and pruning fruit trees. Pruned and tied in the blackberry canes which felt very similar to what I’ve been doing in the garden with the roses. Peeked into pond, saw some little larvae.

I enjoyed it, apart from the few times that the offending plot came into view with my polytunnel on it.

I‘d hoped to see the couple I’d spoken to in order to get their number as witnesses because they were the ones who had spoken to that plot holder. But they weren’t there. If I keep going this week I’ll catch them eventually as they’re almost always there at the same times I go.

@Marlorena, Excuse my ignorance, but could you explain your feeding references (Miracle Gro 7-3-5 Tom 4-3-8) I have recently planted some bare root roses and would love to give them the best possible care and attention. Thank you.

@Mr. Vine Eye Thank you. Had to be choosy coz its a small allotment. Theme was 'fragrance' more than anything. Disease resistance/ repeat flowering/ colour/ variations comes next.
Anyone had grown Lyda rose? Next in my wish list. It wont be available till April from Peter Beales.
