    @Marlorena, I looked back at when my first Marie Pavie bloom opened, it was 11 days ago and it’s still there! It’s only just beginning to go a tiny bit brown around the edges. That’s pretty impressive, especially for a first year rose, do they normally last that long?

    ..funny you should say that, I hadn't noticed before but checking over old photos it does seem they last a long time, but I can't say how long... but I know a rose that probably beats it... 'Sally Holmes'... the single flowers last 3 weeks before disintegrating, although they don't look so great after 10 days.. I kept a photographic record..  the flower opened June 25th, and fell off July 16th...

    @Tack
    ..that's a shame about the rust... I don't recall seeing rust when we used to have Conference pears back in the day in our garden then... totally ignorant at the time, and ashamed to say I used to spray.. with Fenitrothion for Codling Moth, as they would get maggoty otherwise...  banned now I think and rightly so..

    ..it does look a touch chlorotic... I presume it's grafted.. sometimes rugosas are sold own root and can be more soil sensitive..  might need a touch of sequestrene if it gets worse..
    You'll love the scent..  incidentally, pests don't really bother rugosas.. you could save the product and do away with spraying altogether if you wanted.. aphids etc. make no impression on a rugosa..

    @celcius_kkw Could you please photograph your best lasagne pots or mixed pots separately (if you have time of course)? Are they meant to flower together or successionally?
    My lasagne pots this year didn't go that well. The heights and the flowering times are different than I hoped for and I overcrowded them a bit too much.

    I guess there is a difference between long-lasting and still looking good on the plant @Marlorena. I also recall your comment about Blush Noisette not being self-cleaning and needing a good shake, looking like dirty toilet paper was it?!

    ...something like that, but I'll stick with dirty dish water...  at least it smells nice..

    Wonderful photos, @celcius_kkw

    I have the same problem with my Aloha, @Janie B, I was just going to ask the same question. It’s been like this for weeks now, very small leaves that don’t seem to develop any further. Sorry about the hand, just to give you an idea of the scale.

    @Mr. Vine Eye I’m so glad you decided to stay on! I was really looking forward to your progress on the plot.. and felt so upset at what happened to your polytunnel. Anyway, onwards and upwards. You’ve got plenty to do now..!

    By the way, I think you should consider installing a ‘wildlife’ camera.. you know, just in case.

    @pitter-patter Thank you 😊
