That is so beautifully sewn @chicky, what nimble fingers you must have.

I cut OH's hair when we are in France or in lockdown. He was pleased with the last cut.

I like a sherry too, but sweet cream sherry, preferably Harvey's. When moving house I found a bottle in the cave that had got forgotten. I buy it in England when we take the car, don't have it at Stansted Airport.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Lovely @chicky 😊

Niece at Uni (1st yr) just sent us a pic of the supper she’s cooked for herself and a flatmate ... fresh whole mackerel with garlic, lemon, herbs, chilli and olive oil, with tender stem broccoli and a tomato and red pepper salsa ... she’s getting the hang of it 👍 😉

Night night all ... sleep tight 😴

Morning everyone.  Sorry to hear about sore bits, but hopefully everyone will be good soon.

Very nice cross stitch Chicky. What size fabric do you use. When I was heavily into it, I preferred the larger ones, but I must admit that the smaller ones look better.

Prediction today and tomorrow is 30. Sigh!  I can’t acclimatise.

When I looked out the side window this morning, noticed a group of sheep snuggling down under a tree in our place. Thought about ringing next door (again), but decided that I don’t care. At least they are out of the sun for a while. Poor things have a terrible life with full fleeces and hot sun to cope with.

Well it’s a full-on day here. Hot outside.   I walked out to the veg garden to turn off the soaker hoses, and disturbed a brown snake. Much yelling for Hubby to bring the rifle out without success. Had to walk back to the house and rap on a window to get his attention. By the time he was set up, he had a go, but missed it. It slid into our grove of Acacia  boormanii. Not much we can do now, but I’m going to be nervous tomorrow going out to water the garden. 😳

  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
    Take care out there @Pat E 🤗
Another springlike morning ... much milder and a lot of bird activity ... 11C at 7am ... almost tropical 🌴 😉

  • Goodness me ... look here @Pat E !!!  I’m not sure whether that’s better or worse than snakes !!!

  • Good morning @Dovefromabove, so lovely to see sunshine isn't it. :)

I am not sure about living that close to snakes @Pat E. :O I have seen a couple of dead ones here on the road from time to time, but they are very small. I think there is only one dangerous one here. We have got an emergency snake bite phone number on the fridge, but it's been here since we moved in, left from the previous owner, and happily I have never needed to use it.

DIY work today. I am going to clean some of the sap that has appeared on the handrails and posts of the terrace at CdeG and power wash the deck with a view to giving it an extra coat of protection ready for summer. I need to get it done while we have a chance of dry weather for a few days - and whilst we are shut obviously.

Also have a batch of cupcakes to make today for a takeaway birthday, they wanted 10 and I only have 5 left in the freezer, I might as well get a couple of dozen done and stay ahead.

Weigh in was disappointing - no change, :( but I have been gardening all week and no walking/running/keep fit exercises. I also ended up having a sandwich for lunch on a couple of days because I hadn't had time to make soup, dangerous stuff that bread! I am not too bothered, I am very nearly where I need to be and I am happier to see the garden getting tidy than me being thinner.

Have a good day all. :)

  • Ooh, meant to say - have you heard from @Fairygirl @Dovefromabove, I have not seen her for a couple of weeks on here?

  • Yes @D0rdogne_Damsel @Fairygirl  is fine and is about, she’s answered a few gardening queries ... just not chatting at the moment 😊
