Hello all, terrible night here weather wise, howling wind kept me awake and the rain is relentless. I know something of what it is like for you @punkdoc because of my son, he is in a bad place at the moment and has just started his antidepressants. As Dove says, we will all get through this together, lets get February out of the way and March brings the change of clocks and hopefully better weather.  :)
  • @punkdoc I agree, with the above. I am finding it a real grind at the moment, the weather certainly isn't helping, and we can't do anything about that. So all we can do is try to manage the things we are in control of.  Feel free to moan on here as much as you need.

    Good morning all.
Hugs to you @punkdoc. Love to you and Moira.
AWOL yesterday as I was out keeping the good people of Devon (didn't venture into Cornwall ) fed and watered.
January is gone , the days are getting longer , Spring is coming.

Ditto @punkdoc and @Allotment Boy .  The lack of sunshine doesn’t help.  I am about to get out in the garden and get some planting done, but its grey and misty and distinctly uninviting.

And a flurry of emails this morning cancelling more events in May adds to the gloom.  Sensible, but depressing nonetheless.

Hoping @Yviestevie has some better news this morning ......keep thinking of you all.

That is so true @Desi_in_London I still hear my Mum saying "There are others with real problems you know?" and I just ended up feeling sorry for them as well!  I ask my kettle every morning "When will this end?" and just hope it never answers back.

No-one can know how you are feeling @punkdoc but in different ways, in differing degrees and with different outlooks there are many dealing with this isolation and anxiety.

I don't know you and do not wish to presume but I do wish you well and as long as the sun comes up every day and there are the antics of other gardeners to share it can't all be bad.

  • I have resolved to use February to do the pile of paperwork tasks that have been accumulating ... the ones that aren’t urgent but ought to be done ... plus the filing that’s been secreting itself in the bureau 🙄

Hello all, sympathies to Punkdoc and everybody else who's feeling down.

I'm feeling a bit off-colour this morning (jab yesterday) and have been awake since 4.30 am so am taking it easy, although we have a problem with a poorly cat who's going to the vet at lunchtime. Probably just a UTI as he's a 9 yr old neutered cat but better not to take chances with a sick animal.

It's very grey and coldish here but I can see some purple crocuses in bloom from the bedroom window which cheered me up.

Do hope Yviestevies family is ok this morning.

Don’t overdo it @Lizzie27 ... son had a reaction to his jab but @WonkyWomble has cured him with Shepherd’s Pie first day and roast chicken the second ... apparently that’s an effective cure 😉
