Hello all. Forecast says it should be raining, but I'm not complaining about the blue sky and fluffy clouds we've got instead...
Happy birthday to @WonkyWomble's hubby! Hope you both manage to enjoy the day.
Running isn't my "thing", @D0rdogne_Damsel, but my daughter loves it - not for the physical results as much as the mental "clearout" it gives. A good walk does the same for me... or a day in the garden.
Got a vet trip booked for tomorrow for our aged moggy. Yesterday evening I thought she'd not last until this morning, and was preparing to ring for an emergency appointment - then she scoffed some chicken and asked for more. I think she has a kidney problem though.
We've only recently discovered "Repair Shop". What a lovely programme! A bit staged, of course, but the skill, patience & dedication of those craftspeople is wonderful; my mum would have absolutely loved it, as she was an inveterate fixer-upper of things.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Good morning @Liriodendron It's usually kidneys with cats, Flatters McCatters was put on renal function cat food which helped him. You can order it online. Obviously not instead of chicken!
Morning @D0rdogne_Damsel how are your seeds doing? My kitchen window sill has been full since last weekend when I couldn't resist any longer and sowed 2 types of cosmos and a posh zinnia. Itching to get more on the go!
Thanks @Dovefromabove 😄 going to wake him with a coffee now!
Pleased you were able to join in with the funeral @Pat E , and glad they did him proud. Very sad 😞
Enjoy Mr Wonky’s birthday @WonkyWomble ....hope there is cake involved somewhere 🎂. It’s littlest Chicklet’s birthday at the weekend. Will be the first I’ve missed ☹️. Sending online goodies and we’re having a zoom party instead 🎉🎉🎉
I’ve taken over the running of the Garden Club’s website. Today’s task is to get a gallery of Snowy Pictures on there (taken by peeps last weekend, when we had a dump of the White Stuff). Always takes longer the first time you attempt something new, so won’t be planning much else for today ....apart from Pilates (by zoom) at 10am and our daily constitutional later. Luckily we can walk for miles round here without seeing a soul, so we get out for an hour every day come rain or shine. One of the things that keeps me sane.
Love repair shop too ....that card table last night was amazing. And the tic tac bag really made me laugh 😆
Seeds very happy @WonkyWomble, Zinnia through already! Done an exercise workout and the running programme already so off to do some gardening now. I believe trying to lose a little bit of weight is harder than losing loads, it just doesn't feel like it's going. Weigh in on Saturday, we'll see. I am sleeping better though so that's one bonus.
Enjoy your new 'job' @chicky, you'll be running the club before you know it! 😀

@steephill the things people do! We are not strict enough here about such things. Had to go for blood tests this am. The GP surgery has finally started doing them, I think a lot of people were avoiding having them at the Hospital. They do make me smile though, I had just walked down there & the nurse insisted on doing my BP first. "Oh it's a bit high " she declared "yes I just walked down here at speed " says me. She wanted to do it again straight away but I persuaded her to wait till after she had taken the blood. When she finally repeated it, it was down from 146 - to 115. When she weighed me she said it was down 1/2 a kilo, I said I was probably wearing heavier clothes last time. They really don't know what to make of me sometimes. 😄
Greetings Forkers. Weekly shop done, including Chinese dumplings on sale for the Chinese NY but no spring onions or broccoli. Bizarre. Also a wee raid on the DIY for some bits for Roman blinds. The sun has come out at long last so OH and I are taking the dogs to a beach this pm and I shall drag Possum out too if I can. Cloudy again tomorrow and loads of wet stuff due again on Saturday.
I have to record the Repair shop cos t'other pair don't like it. I also wait for QI XL and the longer version of Have I Got News For You when it's on. I did get to see Celebrity (who are half of them?) Home Cook which is not exactly inspiring.
Still not sown any seeds. It turns out the chooks are vandals in the PT and have been flying up onto a table full of small plants and pecking them to death and also jumping all over my piles of clear plastic seed tray lids so I'll wait a week or two more for light levels and temps to improve so babies can be sheltered safely in the annex.

Hi folks, Was planning on going in the garden today but I'm aching from yesterday and I didn't have much enthusiasm to get moving. SIL is not good. Had the ambulance out twice yesterday. His oxygen level was down to 87 per cent at one point. I really think he should have gone in. Merri was in floods of tears on the phone. The ambulance paramedics say he should stay at home and that Firstborn should monitor him hourly. The problem is they haven't given her any parameters. Firstborn and Merri are setting alarms at two hourly intervals so one of them get up to check on him. I'm starting to wonder if they aren't taking him in because they don't have the capacity.
I have to say that at the moment all of this seems neverending.
