    Morning all.
    Thanks for the kind words.
Slept well , amazingly. Not too painful .A bit of seepage on the bandage which I'll keep an eye on as I was told to go back to hospital if there was seepage.

  • Glad you slept well @Hostafan1 👍

I realised the other day that when I ordered my veg seeds I didn’t order any tomatoes 😲 that has been remedied ... I’ve ordered our usual Sungold, and for a change San Marzano ... I’ve not grown them before ... anyone here grow them outside?

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Morning all,  glad you slept well Hosta I think that helps healing as much as anything.
I have grown San Marzano before, they are the best for cooking and sauces etc. They are susceptible to late blight though,  but worth a go. I am going to grow some this year too.

As someone who invariably sows too late, when do  you guys normally sow tomato seeds?

I used to sow them mid March, but they grow quickly in SW France. Glad you slept well @Hostafan1.

    Morning all.

Must finish un-packing my shoes, there is a box downstairs that should be in the bedroom. Hope to carry on with the flower bed this afternoon but back is aching a bit and fingers are a bit swollen, but that is nothing new.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • I'm a bit late too,  but I think I will be sowing mine in the next week or so. A lot depends on the way the season is going  weather wise. As Dove always says,  it's not so much sowing them it's being able to move them on. If you have any space in your Polytunnel you can protect them till it's safe to put them outside.

I always have dozens spring up in the tunnel from last year's fallen fruit, that usually jolts me into sowing some
