My new house is a period house, beams, wonky bits, but much smaller. Are you planning on playing poker, winning at the races or the Lottery @Dovefromabove?
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Ours was built in 1930 but is stone and not UK mock Tudor style. Heaven knows what's hidden behind the wall boarding a previous owner installed, presumably to straighten walls and reduce dust. I've had to buy a stud and cable detector so I can hang pictures and mirrors safely.
Let us know the secret to your fund raising @Dovefromabove.
We are having heavy downpours now. Not forecast and not needed. More sewing then.

@Dovefromabove, I promise not to bid against you on the new house. When we were last moving we ignored everything listed, and any house with a swimming pool. ( both total money pits ) . Sunshine and showers here today, but not cold.
Hi folks, Been busy here this morning in the garden. It was lovely. Sunny, not cold, but quite wet. Gave my new wellies a run out and they are warm and comfy. I've managed to clear the right hand border of debri and weeds and it looks much better. Wanted to carry on but it's the first garden workout I've had for months and didn't want to overdo it. Lots of snowdrops in bloom, crocus, daffs and tulips showing shoots. Feel so much better for having been out there.
Haven't heard from Firstborn this morning so don't know how SIL is.
I share your pain @Dovefromabove. I've had two Lottery win houses snatched from my grasp in the past couple of years. One a beautiful victorian property on the outskirts of Worcester and another fabulous Georgian house with a wood and acres of land. I could have made a beautiful garden in both. I don't ask Hubby for much but you would think he could pick the right 6 numbers when I ask him to.
Good to see you @Yviestevie, I am about to go out and attempt the same in the garden, managed an hour or more yesterday and yes, it felt so good afterwards. I am not sure if my bulbs are growing p or floating up, but there's a lot about.
If, and that's a big if, especially as I don't do it, if I were to win the lottery I think I would have to have my own house built to exactly my own particular specifications. In the past I have spent so much time (and money) adding or altering I am sure building would be a cheaper and more efficient option.
Catch you all later, determined to get something done out there.

I think what to with lottery winnings probably needs a whole new thread..........
It has stopped raining at last and we have a brief glimmer of sunshine. I might put my wellies on and go and see if the chook have grown webbed feet. All the local rivers and a nearby lake in an old quarry have burst their banks and the roadside drainage ditches are full. It is soggy underfoot even in the driest bits of our plot.

The problem is that I do pick the right numbers @Yviestevie .... it’s that dratted machine that Camelot have got at their end that picks the wrong ones 🙄
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
The real joke is until recently there were 4 bed semi detached houses not far away going for that kind of money. Not worth it as such but that was the state of the market. It's dropped a bit now but not much. Makes your one look like a bargain @Dovefromabove.
Off today. Had a broken night too as Dad phoned as was having a low blood sugar. All sorted swiftly. I had a cuppa and watched tv for an hour - the cats thought it was breakfast time at 3am (they always think it’s breakfast time mind).
Had a potter outside this morning- my grass is super soggy so will need to fork it when I am in the mood.
