Loads of new candidates for the Darwin Awards.  I've just read about a massive queue of cars waiting up to 3 hours for fuel at a petrol station near Birmingham.  It was shut. :D

A simple RTBC today - ol' Ken played some cracking songs this morning, most notably, Mr McCartney's  #My Love. One of my all time favourites. Then, this afternoon Steve Wright played Noel Harrison's 'Windmills of your Mind, picked by someone as one of their oldies. One of the most underrated songs and performances of all time. Magnificent.
Oh - and when the rain was off,  I planted some of my new bulbs while Dave chuntered around in the pond, and had his tea nearby. Such very simple pleasures :)

  • Two of our faves too @Fairygirl … we heard My Love while sheltering from a sudden downpour that coincided conveniently with Popmaster 😎

That first bloke was good wasn't he? Shame it was a bonus he missed, rather than an ordinary question, or he'd have made it through to the Champion's League.
Of course - there is only one T. Crown Affair too. How could Mr Brosnan ever compete with the King of Cool.  ;)

He played #Space Oddity too. Brilliant.

  • I remember watching the Thomas Crown Affair when I was 16 @Fairygirl  … at Ipswich Odeon I think …  we went on the bus (12 miles).

He was the dog's doodahs ol' Steve.
I remember queuing round a cinema with a friend to go and see The Exorcist. We didn't get in - it was full by the time we got to the front of the queue. I've still never seen it!

Loved that theme from the Thomas Crown Affair. Lots of old favourites popping up in adverts. Rather annoying, as I just hear enough to get me singing along, before the music stops and some drivel about reclining chairs or the like starts up.

Totally agree with Windmills of Your Mind, a wonderful song, think I will add it to my Apple tunes.
Plus Space Oddity, always loved the earlier Bowie the best.
