I remember princess Anne saying she collected her child benefit as she " was entitled to it" although she certainly didn't "need" it , and I'm sure Peter and Zara would never have been hungry or unshod.

@Hostafan1, I just read this week that PIP payments can be accelerated in cases of terminal illness and at a higher rate but goodness knows how or when that will happen.

@Hostafan1 have you considered contacting your MP? I have no time for politicians as a breed but when we had a similar issue with my mom the MP was surprisingly helpful. Easy enough to send an email. Just a thought.

This is meant to be reasons to be cheerful. Was just about to say, went out for lunch at our favourite pub/restaurant today, with the old man
We have been to one garden, and had one lunch since February 2020,sat outside it was lovely.

I hate the two words "old age" put in front of "pension", I know people who have retired in their 40s,my husband's cousin, and one of my friends retired at 55.

I spoke with PIP this morning .
It's a DS1500 form and Husband's Doc told me to print one off and he'll fill it in .

Thank you so much for the message.

Good advice.  I worked for DWP at one time and when claimants were being sent round in circles, we would tell them to contact their MP.  Amazing how quickly problems are resolved once they get involved.
