Not necessarily a RTBC but I did laugh at Nicola Sturgeon calling Alex Salmond "an attention seeker who loves the lime-light", although I will bow to her greater expertise on the subject.

We have seen peacock butterflies in the garden & on the Allotment in the last few days.
Had the doors open on the Lemons all day.

My magnolia stellata  has done nothing for the last four or five years except not die. My fault entirely. It's in the wrong place.
It has produced two strongly scented blossoms! It's still only about 2ft tall, though.

    Brave little shrub.

I have tomato seedlings!  Only sowed 4 each of 6 varieties 6 days ago and half have popped today.   Got another chilli too.  So excited but now I need to work on chook proofing the polytunnel before I plant them.

I feel almost guilted into nurturing it now. Almost.

Well. It can have extra water and maybe a little fertiliser over the summer.

I've seen my first swallow.   That makes me happy but OH grumpy.

Last year I made him clear anything we might need out of the bit of the old ruined farmhouse where they nest so we don't disturb them.  This year he's just stashed all his oil mixes and palaver for the mowers and strimmer and I've made him move it.  Again.

Not sure if the blue tits nesting in my pear tree are gourmet diners or just good nest builders.  One of them has been pecking away at the sweet cicely, herbs for dinner or the dead stalks for the nest?  Made me laugh anyway  :D
