This is the strangest thing we’ve seen. We’ve had no rain for weeks and high temps of 37 for the last four days, but this cloud has a rainbow and what looks like streams of moisture falling over the mountain. Odd.
Morning all. After a freezing night, the sun is out. It will still take days for the snow/ice to melt in my front garden as it doesn’t see the sun at all this time of year.
@PatE must be hard for you having a sad family situation plus the surfacing of painful memories. We are always here if you just need to say that you are upset.
That picture is strange. I wonder if you will have a storm with that?
Morning all, hugs to all with rubbish things going on in their lives at the moment. Son had his first jab at the W/E and wife is to get hers this week as they are both vulnerable. He is struggling with depression and has resisted medication up until now but GP has persuaded him to try tablets for a while. Another wet day here, no chance of getting in the garden, I can see everything starting to grow and my fingers are itching to get out there! If only I could divert some of the rain over to Pat! Take care all, catch up later.
Hi everyone, sorry to hear your news @Pat E. We were woken in the night not by cold but the bedroom clock was flashing , must have had a mini power out-again!
Nothing garden related, I have had tinitus in my left ear several years, following a virus, high pitch whining, normally I can block it out at night by listening to the clock ticking, occasionaly the right ear would be so loud I can't have conversation or watch TV, but now the right ear is clicking, any tips, especially at night, it's very loud in both ears.
That must be very annoying Nanny Beach. Could you try headphones with some relaxing sounds eg. podcasts, audio books, nature background sounds. I use these to get to sleep.
Snow is melting in the sun but the pond is icy and all north facing areas are still thick with snow and frost.
Just defrosted and disinfected my car as OH needs to drop MIL to emergency dentist. It will be windows open, masks on and just a short trip. Not ideal, particularly as we have been so careful not to spend any time indoors etc with her, but she can’t navigate her snowed-in driveway to get out otherwise.
Sorry to hear you news @Pat E, so many people struggling with family issues at the moment, made more complicated by Covid is some cases too. I hope the tablets will help your son @floralies and good news regards vaccination too.
I've given up setting any electric clocks here @Allotment Boy, we constantly have power outages, even a few seconds and the clocks start flashing, the joys of living in rural France.
I have had a busy (if a little frustrating at times) morning, I have done a half hour of Joe Wicks workout and a half hour of yoga, I am struggling a bit with the yoga, hard to follow the screen when you've either got your eyes closed or your head between your knees I have found a real beginner one and that is a bit better, all practice I suppose.
More frustratingly my vacuum cleaner has stopped working. It's only just a year old, has a two year guarantee, but can I find the correct paperwork, absolutely not! The website that belongs to the shop I got it from says I have no previous orders, despite the fact that the man in the shop did the whole process for me in the shop. I went into the shop on Saturday and he said just print off the order and bring the vacuum back, but of course it's not there. Somewhere safe, and that's the problem, is the original receipt. It doesn't help that the shop name is not the same on the invoice, I remember it being a funny Japanese name on the original email telling me it was ready for collection, it confused me at the time, now of course I can't find the email either because I can't remember the funny Japanese name. Very frustrating.
I am going to order my new dahlia's now too because the sun has come out, hurrah, and I might have a chance to get them started soon in the G/H. I got some seeds for my birthday too and my friend says the Ammi Majus can be started now. The others I just keep looking at the packets....itchy fingers as so many of you have already said.
