Happy birthday to those celebrating. We have had quite heavy snow overnight and we're watching loads of people with kids sledding on the hills opposite - but carefully socially distancing so far as we can tell. OH has been for a walk to get the paper but as I don't like snow at all, I've stayed in the warm. Just had a lovely chat with my son in Bournemouth, no snow there of course so grandchildren very envious. I'm envious too because his MIL who turned 70 last week has just had her vaccine invitation, don't know why as she's one of the healthiest people we know. Luck of the draw I suppose, we're still waiting. We're very proud grandparents today though as grandson has come 3rd out of 205 boys in latest performance exams. I rather think that warrants a presie from grandma.
Have a wonderful birthday day @D0rdogne_Damsel Don't worry about the meal, just start tomorrow with celery and Perrier!! @Hostafan1 Welcome back to the forum. Will be looking forward to reading your helpful tips. Tui
I've jiggered my sleeping patterns to follow as much of the Joe Root show in Sri Lanka as possible. Lovely drone footage of hot, deserted, clean beaches as well!
It's dry here as well, if a touch chillier . Pretty much all the snow of recent days has gone. As winter days go, it looks pretty good. No excuse not to go for another run this afternoon!
@Allotment Boy yep ... Thursday, but my birthday tea is being postponed to Saturday as I left it too late to book a delivery slot. 😝
@Yviestevie 🤗 🤗 hug for you and your family ... tell Merri try not to worry ... my niece had it and it just gave her a headache and made her feel miserable for a few days ... paracetamol dealt with the headache. She said the feeling miserable was the worst bit.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Happy birthday @D0rdogne_Damsel. Good day for it! No dieting here on Sundays.
I hope your family recovers well @Yviestevie. Worrying times for you and everyone else in the same boat. Hugs!
It is sunny here at the mo but it'll be brief. Lots of wet stuff this morning and more expected soon but for now it's large blue bits and bright silver lining the ominous dark clouds sweeping in again. I can see the silhouette of a large-ish raptor outlined by the bright sun and perched on the leccy cables, eyeing up a rather stupid wood pigeon perched a bit further along.

Happy birthday @D0rdogne_Damsel , and in advance @Allotment Boy and @Dovefromabove. Snow which settled this am seems to be steadily being washed away by sleet -- which probably means treacherous pavements tomorrow ( I'm not risking it today )
Thank you for all the birthday wishes. We've had a lovely Sunday lunch, roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding too and home made sticky toffee pudding, with cream, I decided custard would be too much. Very enjoyable. I bought a bottle of alcohol free wine, Merlot, but tbh it was just like ribena so not worth the money.
Now I'm going to sit and watch a film on my newly cleaned sofa, shame to sit in it it looks so nice - but I will. 😁
No snow here but damp and wet, the sun popped out briefly but back to rain now.
Take care everyone if you've got snow.
Best wishes to everyone, especially offspring of @Yviestevie. 😘😘

Been sorting the shower room. Just half a box for the medicine cupboard left to go. Be nice to have more room in there without boxes.
Lost Internet this afternoon, rang Orange. Man said the Airbox had probably run out and I would have to go and get a new one tomorrow. But Internet is back now.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hello all. Glad you're having a happy birthday, @D0rdogne_Damsel. Your Sunday lunch sounds good...
Hope your family soon improve, @Yviestevie, and Merri can manage not to worry too much. It sounds as if the sufferers will be able to isolate easily, at any rate.
Snow here overnight, but much of it has now melted - it was too slippery for a walk, so we've admired it from inside the house. The birds have been extra hungry so I've had to refill the sunflower hearts twice, as well as putting out a tray of food for the ground feeders.
Hope you and your team keep safe in this weather, @AuntyRach .
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
