The sun did break through so we walked but just round the roads. Nipped into chemist's to get some finger plasters ( I tore a fingernail down while on the plots the other day). A few people about but our own road was very busy again coming back so glad we didn't try the park or farm. Opened a seed Catalogue today that came before Christmas but I had resisted, they have included some page markers with gardening quotes on. Thought I would share one "God made rainy days so Gardeners could get the housework done!"
Evening all, Took all the Deccies down today and put them in cellar. Lots of cleaning done so we are pretty much back to normal. Hope everyone is well.
Hello everyone. Nothing different here. Weather is cool (cardigan and track pants) instead of our usual summer heat wave. No rain still, but we are promised rain for today and tomorrow. Joke! I can’t get over how their predictions are so wrong. They used to be better than that.
I didn’t bother with. Christmas tree or decorations here. Our youngest grandson is 21 and it hardly seems worth the effort. If son had brought his cat with them, I might have dared to put things out for her to bat around.
Punkdoc, it’s amazing how your neighbour gets away with it. We have a neighbour who behaves in a similar fashion but we heard neither noise nor saw any activity on NYE. It’d be nice if he helped clean up some of his trees that are draped over our fences. In the end, it’ll be Hubby who has to do it. He’s not that energetic still from the chemo and other medications. Never mind, he’ll get to it eventually, and the only animals in that area are the Roos and wallabies, so we don’t care.
Morning all, I briefly saw a clip about Australia's weather/climate change the other day @Pat E, basically suggesting that whatever Australia experiences the rest of the world will follow with, it was only a preview and I missed when the whole programme was going to be on, I did think it looked interesting. I might try and hunt it down.
Definitely wintery cold here, I managed a walk with Charlie but the dampness seemed to penetrate, came back with a sore nose from blowing it and chapped lips, need to be more prepared tomorrow.
I did a 20 minute workout with Joe Hicks, seems such a nice chap, and I didn't think 20 minutes was too bad, well I have definitely got thigh burn this morning. In my defence Charlie (age 13) did the workout with me and he is also suffering this morning. Hopefully after a few days we'll get used to it. I'll be very pleased to see better weather, I can garden all day for exercise with pleasure and certainly no thigh burn.
I like the sound of your scattergories quiz @AuntyRach, might have a go with Charlie.
And @Allotment Boy I like the sound of your seed catalogue too.
I have put some Dahlia's in a wishlist on Farmer Gracy, but I have lots of new plants already waiting to go in so I am going to be very restrained and check there is space left before I buy.....although if I put the Dahlia tubers in first beneath early bloomers they might be able to grow over finished flowers....
Have a good day all, keep warm.

Good morning all 😊 ☕️ slept like a log ... only just waking up properly now ... OH is making coffee ... if you want some you’d better shout now ... ☕️ ☕️ ☕️
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Late start here too. Another very dull grey start. Pleased to see the small birds are getting to the feeders & the mealworms again. Our last tame Robin disappeared at the end of summer & we had not been seeing any for a while. There is a new one around but it is very cautious at the moment.
Morning all/afties @Pat E. Your climate is very challenging, to put it mildly! Chilly here again. Ground has been frozen for a week. Minus 6 last night, so that was the coldest night so far. The wee birds could do with some woolly drawers too I think @punkdoc's neighbour is a total be**end. Hopefully karma will catch up with him. There was a load of idiots fined up here after renting a house in Aberfoyle for NY. Local residents shopped them and the cops turned up. Good. What was really depressing was that report yesterday about those tw*ts at that hospital in London. Words fail me...well, polite ones anyway. 2020 was a year of many extremes, but for me, it was the year of utter selfishness. When will people get into their thick heads, four simple words - 'it's not about you'. I think my toe is almost fine now, so I'll get back out for a walk in the next day or two. It's been a bit frustrating but that's how it is.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
We have a weather warning for snow and ice. Quite suprised really as it is lovely and sunny and not cold cold either. Maybe later things will change.
I agree with you @Fairygirl about @punkdoc neighbours. It is scary how many people are having parties and gatherings. I was told about one about 5 mins from our house. It is the current gossp in our area. Police came, there was 26 people there. They were not even discreet. Cars were squeezed onto the drive like sardines and they were parked on the pavement and grass verges. I dont know if the police were called because of the cars or the party. I am sure that will come out in the wash. Another party broken up at the other end of town even had a live band. Makes you wonder what people are thinking doesn't it?
Years ago, I used to be a runner. My Sunday mornings were often reserved for 10k's and mucky runs. My running partner moved and I had no motivation to continue. I regret stopping as I used to enjoy it. Mr PurpleRose has been talking about running for a long time and he even started and was doing well during the first lockdown but work got busy and it got put on the back burner. We have decided to start the couch to 5k today. Because there is not much we can do together at the moment, we have decided to do this so we still get some time away from the house and we are doing something together. See how it goes.

Letter ‘O’: Name something associated with Winter?
Funniest answers: Onesie, and ‘orrible weather.
Think I was 4th out of 9 players 🙄
Snow forecast keeps changing here...will it, won’t it??
