  • thank you for the encouragement @D0rdogne_Damsel , @Biglad -- good luck! I didn't realise you were doing an interim 5k target as well. Some ( ok a lot) years ago I used to be able to comfortably do 25min 5ks( don't  remember ever having broken 24 except on a downhill route) and 50 ish min 10ks a bit less comfortably . I'm guessing today I'd be adding 50% to both those and would need a lot of walk intervals!

Afternoon all, or is it evening? Its just got dark here. We're all over the place today as we didn't wake up until after 9am, it must have been the extra gardening yesterday. Haven't done much today as my back aches, so just a gentle stroll through the Orchard to meet OH and a bit of H/W later.  Cat's been dashing in and out like a yoyo, he's now got some mates, they just circle around each other but are not fighting.
That kind of news must be hard to assimilate @Punkdoc, hard for you.
Not sure I could cope with fish & chips followed by a cream tea DD, but my OH could!
It's all good for you though.
Once you've got most of your things unpacked BL, you'll feel really 'home'. My daughter's doing the opposite, busy packing, she gets the keys tomorrow. Whoopee!
We're not seeing or hearing many planes going into Bristol Dove, it's much quieter now.

Did my first bit of gardening this morning, started new beds. There is a lot of tidying and pruning to do, but there isn't a flower garden as such, lots of grass, trees and a big vegetable garden with a smaller fruit garden and some orchard. Will cut down the veg garden.

This afternoon I unpacked the bedroom. Was going to change the sheets but I don't know what the removal men have done with our pillowcases that match the duvets, they were all in the same cupboard. The washing machine is working so I won't be running out of undies after all.

Does anyone know how long grass takes to die under black plastic?

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
are we all having a lie-in?
There doesn’t seem to be a lot of point in getting up ... it’s tipping down out there ... although the forecast for Norfolk and Suffolk is for a mainly dry day
in the meantime I might do a little light dusting ...

  • morning @Dovefromabove... yes late start this am and wasn't organised enough to do the bins last night so putting those out for the collection! Now having coffee before mustering up energy for grocery shopping -- I find if i go early during the week it is a bit less busy.
