@Allotment Boy 😂 we put a cover over the car roof and windows in hard weather ... last night the wind was so strong it was flapping so much I thought the car might take off ... OH nearly learned to parascend when he took it off the car.

I would like to invite you all to a virtual party, to celebrate the end of the road [ hopefully forever, for possibly the worst leader the world has ever seen, well certainly during my lifetime ] I will provide champagne and canapes [ well crisps and peanuts ]
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
We'll be celebrating anyway as it's Possum's birthday. She's a fan of sweet nAsti but we'll have some proper dry Cava.
@Busy-Lizzie we have a large grassed area in our garden which is slowly becoming planted with trees and shrubs. We remove the turf ins spade sized chunks, dig a hole, plant the tree or shrub then level the soil around it, lay down cardboard and put the turves back upside down to hold down the cardboard. That was in December so fthe frosts have worked on the turves and OH has just emptied loads of our own garden compost around each one.
You could do that for your roses - dig hole, plant then lay cardboard and compost/soil/manure on the whole of the rest of the bed. Once the cardboard is wet it's easy enough to break thru with a spade, fork or trowel depending on what you're planting. Don't forget to remove any tape and staples!

Hello Fellow Forkers, Just watched Trump leave the White House and heaved a huge sigh of relief. Heard the 'First Lady' speak for the first time and can honestly say we haven't missed much.
Not doing much at the moment apart from looking after the boys. I have them Monday and Tuesday as Gabriel's pre school is closed as some of the staff have tested positive. The boys have been tested and they are fine and Gabriel hadn't been there for over a week due to his chicken spots as he calls it.
Had a delivery from Debenhams today, two fleeces and a coat (all Regatta) coat was reduced from £120 to £40 and the fleeces reduced to £12 and £15 very pleased with them.
Hope everyone stays dry and safe. Hugs to those of you who have had bad news recently and those in the quiet corner.

Rain, rain go away, come again another day! Horrid here.
I have a midweek day off, so it’s HW and a few jobs before an afternoon of catching up with gardening magazines and podcasts.
When will this rain stop. Stream has gone over, so garden is flooded in places, but, fingers crossed, it is still some way from the house.
Tonight we will celebrate, whether we flood or not.
