    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
No frost this morning... grey and overcast. Apparently there’s the possibility of another Beast from the East later on in the middle or towards the end of this month. Brrr!

  • Morning all,

I did quite a bit of cleaning yesterday and a good hour or so in the garden, but it was so wet underfoot and all the shrubs were wet through too, so cutting back just meant I got wet through too soon enough too.

I am leaving the decs up until 12th night for now, mostly because the thought of putting them all away (boxed & labelled) is a bit daunting.  :open_mouth:

We played a few fun little quiz games last night and had some really good fun. I had got some from M&S, just little £5 tins of questions and I think the one called Twist and Sprout which is a mix of general knowledge questions, charades and humming songs was from Lakeland. Highly recommend for a bit of informal fun.

We have had a weigh in this morning, goals set and a healthy eating plan organised, I want to lose 8kg, that gives me a bit of wiggle room, no wine or cakes is the biggest step but we're trying to make it manageable and therefore sustainable, Charlie's dad has over 20 to lose, so that won't happen in a few weeks. Good doing it together though, hopefully supporting each other.

Just need the weather to perk up so we can get out for walks and the like.

Take care out there everyone, I see snow is forecast for much of the UK.

  • Morning all,  no decorations to take down here as we didn't put any up. I was willing to go into the loft to get them but OH  felt with no family coming there was no point.  I  think her girls were a bit surprised.
    Grey and dull again here.
    AB Still learning

  • Good morning all

Just having a cup of tea and some toast then heading to the Supermarket.

@Dovefromabove we woke up to dull and overcast too but we must have had some rain in the night as the wheelie bin lid when lifted exited a lot of water. Dont like the prospect of another beast from the east. I dont mind the fresh snow, it the aftermath of slush and ice.

Decs are coming down today. I keep telling myself 🤣🤣

Heavy mist and heavy frost this morning but bright sunshine now.  I'm off to clean out the hen house and wash their nesting boxes - still not perching - and then leave it all to dry while we have lunch and then go for walkies.  Need to get Possum back into a daily routine so she has some structure for when she has to go back to Namur.

Good plan @D0rdogne_Damsel.  We only have a couple of Xmas kilos to lose but I'm otherwise still 5 short of target weight and, more importantly, need to get fit again.  Really missing the weekly dance workout and gardening too but still far too wet and claggy here.

No idea about Beasts form the East here but next week is forecast to hover around and just below zero all week and no sun.  best get out and take advantage today while we can.    Really still have a strong feeling of being in limbo and on hold while we wait for the vaccines.  More patience needed then.

Stay safe everyone.  Be kind to yourselves and each other.

    Hello all.
Minus 4° this morning, big frost, was very grey but sun has come out. Shows up the dust in the house.

No decorations to take down this year. I always wait until 5th January anyway.

Did a SM run as snow was forecast and MIL bit low on fresh things, but it looks like we won’t have it now.

Zoom quiz later - it’s ‘Scattegories’ again - which is harder than I thought. A letter is chosen and then 6 questions eg. a boy’s name, an item of clothes, a sport, a spicy food, an author, etc. The trick is that you get an extra point
if you name something that nobody else does. Bit of fun.

Have a good day all, keep warm and safe.

    Hi all

Heavy snow here, beautiful at the moment, but suspect it will be grim if it carries on.
Called the Police last night, NDN's having another party, they didn't come, but at least they will have logged my call.

Just back from a freezing windy walk with the dog - in time - we have snow flurries!!  2°C outside and a bitter wind.  Never met a sausage on our travels!!

Possum refused to head to a beach so I dragged her out into the sunshine anyway but in the fields and lanes around here.   There is still frost lying in shady bits and ice on puddles and we didn't see a soul except when I popped to the farmer neighbours to deliver some eggs.  They're the same age as us and in fine form and being very careful.

Not surprised about your neighbour @punkdoc given past form.  It must be hard not to wish for karma not to seize the chance to catch up with him at one of his parties.

OH has his weekly chat with his siblings booked for 6pm and then we'll have a cosy evening in with a beef curry Possum made a couple of days ago so it could mature and I'll do veggies and rotis.

Hope everyone has a safe and cosy evening.  Not long before we really start to notice lengthening days and get twitchy about seed sowing.
