Welcome to 2021. Happy New Year to you all.

We have moved our bedrooms around today. I don’t know why we haven’t tried it before. Our official Master is in the coldest corner of the house (North-West and the old poorly insulated part of the house) and the double ‘guest’ room is in the middle, therefore only one outside wall. As guests are off the agenda and the cold weather is here, we will give it a try. There isn’t a tv in there at present (not a bad thing) but suppose we could find a way of rigging one up.

I hope the first day of the year is treating you well so far. Stay safe folks.

That sounds like a very positive ‘move’ @AuntyRach ... here’s hoping for a snug and restful night. 👍

Happy New Year folks,  Had a cosy day in front of the fire.  Lovely roast lamb for dinner and christmas cake or ice cream later, if I can find room.
The deccies will come down tomorrow and the place will get a good clean.  Then its a couple of months of plant porn and planning before I get the first of the seeds started in the conservatory.  Hope everyone is safe and well.

My decorations are also coming down tomorrow. We have already started cleaning, rather by accident as the weather was too awful to go outside. Daughter did the bathrooms and took the kitchen wall fan down to clean , OH vacuumed and I did the rest of the kitchen. Quite surprised ourselves. Then I sat down with choccies and rang the rellies.

  • We have had the opposite today hardly did anything. Watched a good amount of the New Year Day concert from Vienna, very sad to see the empty Auditorium but they had a big "on line" audience for the first time.

It warmed up a little so this afternoon we went for a brisk walk.  The light was lovely...

  • Our decs are coming down tomorrow too. I am ready for a good clean around the house. I love the Christmas decorations but after so long they need to come down. The house will look bare for a day or two though.

That is a lovely picture there @Liriodendron beautiful view

Gorgeous @Liriodendron.   Lovely to have such beautiful places to explore.

Tomorrow is the only sunny day forecast for the next 10 days so an ideal day to head off to a beach for a walk with the dogs except that everyone else will probably do that too.

Quiet day here.  Some cooking, some sewing and some embroidery.  OH and Possum like all the lights and stuff so our decorations will stay up till 12th night.

Hope the move works for you @AuntyRach.  We have never had a TV in a bedroom and now we don't even have a radio.

OH likes the uncluttered look, so I suggested that if he wanted he could take the decorations down today on the understanding he wrapped them and put them away ... he’s always so thorough .., they’re all wrapped and put in clearly labelled boxes on the shelves in the garage 👍 😉

Night night all ... sleep tight 🥱
