  • Thank you Chive.....its my friends son and family that are poorly. But feeling a little better.
My Nephews girlfriend seems to be on the mend too. But almost sleeping through the day and night.
Its bitterly cold here today, still no snow.
Thank you Rosie, glad you enjoyed your walk.
Lillysilly, sorry to hear your daughter's friend is poorly too. Hope she gets better soon. Such a shame she can't be with her mum.  Be careful with cutting back, the frost could kill it in this really cold weather. 🥶
Have got wet cloth things hanging on the clothes horse🙄  need to put the hot heavy thing on some things 🤭🤫☹
    Oops didn't press post......probably about 2 hours ago 🤣

Glad it's not just me LB with too much food in the freezer 🤦‍♀️
Time for a cup of tea.

LB turkey broth will be good for this cold weather.  It was good to go out and feel the fresh air on my face and hands.  You feel more alive.  Chive I’ve just changed the sheets and Alfie was finding himself a good place to groom.  I’m having a small glass of Baileys.  I’ve baked some bread and I’m going to cook some nibbles from the freezer for tea.  Very easy but tasty.  Lily sorry to hear of daughter’s bestie and all the aching muscles.  I hope she’ll feel better soon but good her boyfriend’s  caring for her.
  • LB l like the sound of your turkey broth, I make a lot of broth type soups. My daughter makes a Asian chicken broth, with lots of ginger, garlic and spices, so yummy and packed full of veg and noodles. Chicken fajitas tonight and lots of cheese, crackers and nibbles for later. My two have arranged an online party later with their friends and my brother and his family so it should be fun later if it works.
SGL, I'm glad to hear those close to you are feeling better now. My girls bestie is improving I've heard. Had a shower , first for 4 days , she needed help washing her hair as she hadn't the strength to raise her arms above her head, bless her, she's a tiny little lass, 5ft and a size 6. She is vegan as well and struggles getting enough iron in her diet. She has eaten today though, a proper meal so that should give her a boost.
Chive l feel and share your concerns about being in school. During the first lockdown l would work 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off with the key worker children. We all had our own bubble and it was strictly maintained. The last term we were so short staffed, that you were required to help out wherever, the children always kept in their bubbles though. When we return in January we are going to insist that we will work in one class bubble only, because of this new strain. Not sure what leadership will say about that , but tough.

Evening - it's been a cold and frosty day here. I agree with Rosie that it's lovely to get out and feel the cold air blowing the cobwebs away. Unfortunately I've been stuck indoors doing accounts for the last 2 months. Still a bit to do but I'll finish them tomorrow.

Tonight I'm making a Malaysian prawn curry which we'll eat in front of the fire and then I'll do a bit more of a lovely jigsaw I got for Christmas. It's a photo of a beautiful Victorian arcade in Norwich all dressed up for Christmas. It's harder than it looks....

Lilysilly - sorry to hear about your daughter's bestie. Hope she gets well soon.

    Evening all,

I did get a couple more hours kip this morning. Finished the Harlan Coben book I was reading, did the last of yesterday's washing-up (some always appears with 5 people constantly grazing) and went for a run. The old glass back hasn't shattered as a result so I'm calling today a success.

Glad the delivery arrived ok @Ladybird4. I'm constantly tempted to order more stuff for the garden. However, I've got more than enough to be going on with in the spring :o

Rosie Bed making is such fun!! you can always use an extra paw or 4 to help 😽 🐾
LillySilly What a disruptive year it has been for all members of school. I don’t think your demands are unreasonable, we shall have to wait and see what happens. Have fun with the online party 🥳🎈
Topbird You need a break from the accounts, enjoy your curry and puzzle evening,
Chey Snap! I have Cranberry, Raspberry & Grape Cheers 🍷🥳
Pauline hope you enjoy a few days off work,

Good to see you Chey. Happy New Year's Eve to you too. Enjoy your evening.
Lilysilly that sounds like a logistics nightmare. I am so glad I'm a retired teacher and not still at the coal face.
Biglad, I'm glad your back stood up to the pounding. Just don't go laying yourself up!
Chive I experimented making my broth as I didn't have any pearl barley. I used arborio rice instead and it worked just fine. Enjoy your Zoom chat. I'm not signing out yet but for those who are:

Been at Secondborn's today, Jonah has chickenpox but he's doing OK.  I will be looking after the boys on Monday and Tuesday so she can go to work.
Just eaten Prawn Pad Thai and will probably have a G&T to kick 2020 into touch.  We still have patches of snow here and it's really cold so we have a roaring fire in the wood burner.  Stay safe and warm everyone.  Let's hope that 2021 is a much better year.
