    Morning😎 - it's a lovely sunny day here.

    Just had an unexpected outing...

At 9.30am we both received a text saying our health centre (a few miles away) was running a walk-in flu jab clinic between 9am and 11.30 and we were invited to attend.

With -30mins notice and being still unshowered etc it was all a bit of a scramble to get there before the end of the session but we made it and were in and out in less than 2mins. First jab for either of us as we are in the new batch of over-50's to be vaccinated this year because of Covid.

I now need a second cup of tea...

  • Good Afternoon,
Hazel it was one of those moments I knew I’d scanned everything, but you do think did I?!!!🤔 hope the fresh air does the trick and your OH feels better for the walk. Pleased your mum is accepting of the situation, I hope you’ll be able to go and see her soon,
Rosie Always the same repeats Lily’s tv I hope you can get it all dry, quite mild out here but damp from yesterday,
LB That’s a shame their trip has been stopped hopefully they will get to go next year, hope you get to travel further too,
Ante enjoy your tea & biscuits and have a leisurely Sunday afternoon,
Tbird Lucky to get the flu jab like that this morning, I hope you managed to get all you wanted from your shopping trip yesterday,
Have accepted the new tier group we have been placed in, its a shame but most necessary I have been hearing of too many confirmed positive cases locally,
    Have a nice afternoon everyone.

Morning T'Bird. Wow that is short notice but at least you've had that vaccination. I wonder how long you will have to wait for the Covid vaccine? Sun keeps peeking through here - between the rain showers of course.

I suspect we will have to wait for a goodly while for the Covid jabs LB. On the plus side it means we're young enough and healthy enough to allow others to go first🙂.

MIL had the call last week but she is very undecided about whether or not she wants the vaccination at all. Apparently quite a few of her friends feel the same way. They're all in the highest risk groups😬. Decision was made for her when she mentioned her allergy to wasp stings. Her HC are not giving the Pfizer jab to anyone with allergies so she has until the Oxford vaccine becomes available to make a final decision.

Hi Chive - yes we got everything we wanted yesterday thank you. I have now started making the cushion covers for the van.

Are you in a Tier 4 area now? Our poor friends who run a f&c shop / cafe in the centre of Peterborough (T4) have now shut their doors again until the new year. They could do just take away but all their trade is from shoppers and office workers. With the shops shut and people working from home it's just not worth opening the doors.

My bestie is still in T2 in Surrey but she is literally surrounded by T4 areas. Can't believe for one moment the virus respects LA boundaries and surely everyone in Guildford and the other surrounding T4 areas are just going to drive the 10 miles into the Waverley district to shop (even though they're not supposed to)😬

  • T’bird yes we are now in tier 4. Such a shame for your friends business, these are difficult times indeed.

Chive, the good news now for my friends is that their holiday can go ahead. I checked the Government site for them and what they have planned is allowed so I will be cat sitting after all. Sorry that you have ended up in Tier 4 with all its accompanying difficulties.

  • LB I bet they were relieved to hear their trip could still go ahead, that was kind of you to check for them and your back on kitty duty 🐱🐈
Hazel it was a blow but I’m not surprised and the actions of these people leaving London, they just don’t think of the consequences ☹️
